Filthy, disgusting

The most filthy hotel I've ever stayed in. My husband and I travel frequently and he used to lead Africa tours in the 80's but nothing prepared us for this room. The non vacuumed floor we could live with but upon getting ready for bed we were shocked. There was blood splattered on the inside of the bathroom door and after walking on the carpet barefoot for a couple of hours my feet were black on the bottom. We got into bed and the sheets were so thread bare that I could read a magazine through them. The blanket had large rips and tears. (all documented with photos). The worst was the night. I felt like I had bugs crawling on me but didn't want to complain to my husband who was so tired from driving. The next morning he (a man who lived in the outdoors more than inside for about 10 years of his life) told me how gross he felt and that he was sure bugs were crawling on him. EEWWW!!! We checked out but not before notifying the front desk and showing them the room. I asked for a refund on our unused nights. I have called the manager Cortnie, four times, written an email, and we have never been returned our monies. And I didn't ask for a full refund but only for the unused nights. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING AT THIS PROPERTY!!!!!!
Great Place To Stay

I stayed at the Big Bear Lake Front Lodge a couple of weeks ago and I had a great experience. The staff were kind and very helpful, they made my stay a wonderful one. They were very hospitable. My room was clean and neat, with a wonderful view of the lake. Their name lives up to their view! The lake has gotten lower but it is still a gorgeous view to wake up to and to look out in the evening to. Good prices, good employees, great place to stay. Would definitely recommend to others planning to visit Big Bear Lake.
Find another place to stay!

In all of the years that I have been reviewing locations, this is my first bad review. First, the lake is down considerably so there is nothing really "lake front" about this location. this is not really their fault, but do not be deceived by the photos. Second, the "suite" was dirty, broke down, and horribly outdated. We arrived for 4th of July weekend and the cost was exorbitant. We got a room that had old towels and sheets from the prior guests. I had to sleep in my clothes on top of the old nasty bedding. Dirty dishes were stacked in the non-operational dishwasher, sheets were infested with mice droppings, and the ceiling was falling down. The manager did refund one night for me which is a positive. But she also indicated that it would be cleaned. Not hardly. I left out the mouse infested sheets and they did not replace them. Only one set of sheets were replaced and only half of the stained towels were replaced from the prior guests. I'm okay with rustic, this was not rustic; this was poor and trashed. Never again will I stay at the "lake front lodge".
Do yourself a favor and check out the all seasons resort that is adjacent to snow summit. it was far cheaper and the condition was nice, clean and rustic. heck the motel 6 is nicer than this dump.
Beautiful Getaway

My boyfriend and I stayed here for hour two year anniversary. Our lakefront room was perfect for the two of us. The room was beautiful, and the staff was very kind. The manager even put rose petals on the bed in the shape of a heart. The hotel has access to the lake and a boat dock. Definitely would stay here again.
Very bad night

Run down, bugs all over the room, no wash clothes, dirty bathroom.
Great view, but not worth the room and hotel condition.
Needs major upgrade, updating and cleaning
Very nice staff, but it does not outweigh hotel quality.
