I stay in a lot of hotels across Australia and New Zealand. When I am staying in Palmerston North I always choose the Big 5. The staff are the best and the hotel is clean and comfortable, nothing is too much trouble to them. Highly recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our quick stay at Big Five Motel. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit and we loved how there was two bathrooms! It was also great to have a large fridge/freezer! The kitchen was a great size. The beds were very comfortable and nicely decorated. If you have children it is a great place to stay as there is a big park and playground just down the road.

Yes this was one of the smallest rooms we stayed in but it had everything that we needed. When we checked in it was the cheeriest greeting we received on our whole trip! The breakfast was very good and delivered to our door. There was a park close by great was walking and a lovely restaurant within walking distance.

Wanting somewhere quiet I left the centre of town for another day and came upon this lovely motel. Very friendly staff greeted me and offered a really lovely studio room which was perfect for what I needed.
Fresh room with information where the the name came from plus also decorated in South African style. Very tasteful and lacked nothing. Great value for money, thanks

My partner and I, plus our two dogs, stayed overnight at the Big Five. Our room was lovely; very comfortable and quiet. The motel was easy to find and the lady who checked us in very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
