The hotel is based on an estate just outside of the village. Checking in is fast and efficient, and reservation was recognized immediately. The rooms we booked (with a connecting door) were ok. Beds comfortable. Pillows not so much, but i guess that is just our taste. The difference though we had between the junior suite and deluxe room was minimal. Just a few extra square meters. Not much more.
The pool is nicely heated. Not too cold as you often see in hotels. Fitness was ok, one cross trainer, two belts and 2 bikes.
Breakfast was excellent. There is a small buffet, but most things will be served on order.Very well prepared anyway.

For a short stay, 4 days, we have enjoyed these premises to the largest extend! The approach is very personal, feels like a family country estate, and we just loved it. Jokes are being appreciated, the personal is modest yet very professional. And we had a great time there. Imagine, having diner with 6 girls (only 60+) the 'ooievaar/ storck' arrived around 9 p.m. Saturdaynight. So I suggested to the Maitre d'Hotel: what the hell you think you are doing, having this storck come in at this time with 6 girls? He modestly replied: he comes in every evening around that time Madam?!

Because we had the room in the "koetshuis" we did not have much experience with the hotel itself. Check in and check out were smooth.
The room we had was simply the best room we ever had in a hotel in NL. It was complete, clean and luxury. Everything we could possibly need was present. Also it was pleasant to find out that everything we used was just refilled or replaced. We always travel with our dogs and we were pleasantly surprised that there was no surcharge for having the dogs in the room. For breakfast we had to use roomservice as dogs (understandably) were not allowed in the restaurant. The selection we got for breakfast was a bit on the conservative side but enough and of good quality.

Fantastic location in the beautiful province of Friesland the Netherlands. Nice gardens around the hotel, terasses for outdoor lunch and drinks. Located next to the gold course.
Super friendly service in all areas, check-in, bar, spa, restaurant and during breakfast.
One of the only hotels where breakfast ist served at your table, WOW great service and i really enjoyed this. Fantastic spa for massage and skin care.

excellent hotel with great facilities like: pool, tennis, golf, fitness. Beautiful surroundings and great staff for a very succesfull family gathering. 1 hour and a half driving from Amsterdam. Take the route noth from Amsterdam along the IJsselmeer dike.
