Wonderful accommodations!

I just returned from taking a group to Trivandrum and we stayed at the Biverah Hotel. It’s mid-level hotel with two restaurants in it - one Indian and one Arabic. Let me start by saying the staff was helpful and very friendly.
First, the accommodations were very good. Rooms were generally clean - nothing fancy with certainly comfortable. Our air conditioning did not work the best but it was just enough for us to feel comfortable.
Second, the food was very good. Breakfast is included every day with an Indian side and a western side. Fruit is clean with no need to worry for foreigners not used to Indian water. My suggestion is stick with the Indian restaurant as opposed to the Arabic restaurant. The food and service seems to be better since the two do not share a kitchen and cooking staff. What’s weird is I would show up in the Arabic restaurant and no one would be in there to greet me. In addition, you should not expect the shawarma to taste anything like real Arabic food.
I would highly recommend Biverah for a nice budget hotel where you won’t break the budget and still have a pretty nice place. If I went again I would have no problem staying there again.

Nice quaint hotel with medium sized rooms and fair share of amenities. No mini bar, safe or coffee maker as standard. Free buffet breakfast. Staff at reception friendly. Not close to any important sites. About 4 to 5 miles from airport or main railway station.
Not worth

rooms are without fan and has only AC. Front office staff was not friendly and told that no guest will be sent to room and that we have to meet them in the lobby. Since I was a business traveller and had people coming to meet me, this condition was annoying. I am a frequent traveller and no hotels across the globe has this policy.
Rooms are good. round the clock room service was an attraction. the food was good eventhough over priced.

the hotel staff, cleanliness and food is good. No issues. But to go to Kerala and stay in a building of 4 walls is not enjoyable. The hotel must explore how it could make its spaces more open to the nature, use local materials and create a little Kerala within itself.
