Nice family hotel

Excellent family hotel...people are good, service is a bit slow though, but the location makes it up...you have ample places within the campus to chill...in the evening they have small cottage houses for family sitting...there's a music system for folks who want to play some music...there are rabbits roaming around for children to enjoy.....the rooms were clean, spacious bed..being the foremost of beaches in Mandarmani, I was lucky to see hoard of red crabs in the beach as well....food choices are not too many as in all other hotels, but they arranged for excellent hilsa fish for 180 per plate..breakfasts were mostly bread butter omlette..chinese food was horrible as you can expect in other hotels as well..only drawback is the floors of the rooms were soggy and not dry....u have to always wear slippers....another thing is you have to walk couple of stairs and boulders to the beach...senior citizens need to be aware of that....though with some hand-holding, I was able to take my mom....all in all, good enjoyable stay..would surely visit again!

This is the would be one of the worst places, I have stayed in.

1. Our friend was subjected to harassment by lewd and extremely drunk men. The hotel reception did not help at all.

2. They provided us with blankets which were torn, plates which were broken and bed sheets which were very dirty. They even accused us of spoiling the blankets, sheets and plates and tried to extort money from us by threatening us. The house staff, are extremely rude and may turn abusive and violent.

3. They do not have any telephone services and their food even- though is decent, is delivered after 3-4 hours delay, every time.

This is just not a bad hotel, it is unsafe and unhygienic. Please, do not make the same mistake we did.

Budget hotel adjacent to the beach

Good budget hotel in Mondermoni adjacent to the beach. Every room has an attached balcony and sea is very much visible from there. You can view the sea and get the sea breeze from the back side common corridor too. It is situated 2 kms before the main Mondermoni beach. Those who want privacy and want to stay apart from crowd can choose this one.
Rooms are clean and specious compare to the rent. One excellent thing we noticed during our stay, that they didn’t switch off the AC regularly like other hotels there. As well it was working even in power cut time. Manager is a good person and helpful. Food was also ok though a bit costly like other hotels in Mondermoni. It has a large lawn in front of the buildings, parking can be done there.
One bad problem we faced that, though we booked 3 days prior to our stay and made the advance to the Kolkata office but no information was reached to the hotel manager. We needed to inform all again and call Kolkata office after arriving there and as a result we didn’t get the room we preferred and booked in 3 days advance. It seems the person in Kolkata office is bit lazy and barely communicates with his manager.

I was been to mandarmoni for over 4 - 5 times and this place has always been it for me. So thought of writing a review. It is absolutely on the beach and since mandarmoni has a calm sea it really feels wonderful to sit on the lawn and feel the breeze.
I feel they should work a bit on their food quality. but rooms and all are nice.
Compared to mandarmoni where the tariff of maximum of the hotels or resorts are high this place offers a budget freindly tariff plan. So that is a great part about it.
we thoroughly always enjoy our stay here. Thanks to the staffs who are very friendly.

Bay of Bengal is knocking on the door !!

Everything is positive, but specifically the location. The hotel is in a very secluded area at the very start of Mandarmani Beach. Though I haven't verified, but it seems to be closest to the sea. It is just next to the sea. Unlike many hotels, which claim to be sea facing, close to sea etc etc, in this resort, you really have the sea roaring all the way up to the hotel gate (the gate on the side of the beach) - and yes, the beach is like a private beach .. you just walk out of your room in your beachwear and get a quick bath whenever you want .. Only thing is, the gate is closed at 10.30 p.m - but that's for your safety only !!!
Now regarding the hotel rooms - All the rooms are great- Clean rooms, Bathroom clean - if you are visiting during winter, obviously no need to choose AC. But during summer, it's preferable to choose a room with AC - after such a cool weather outside, you will not like the sultry, warm environment inside the room. The most amazing thing is, though the voltage was fluctuating a lot, still the hotel staff (mentioned below) magically kept the AC and water supply on 24X7.
Last but not least - hotel staff - One word - just awesome - Hotel manager, Raja Banerjee is a great person to interact with and he handles all your request promptly with a dedicated staff. Seems the staff members are local and they are eager to help you - Bangali athithwo ( Bengali hospitality) at it's best !!
Okay, my only complaint - I will expect a little bit more variety of fish- only Katla and Pomphret were available .. but again , I am a Bengali, so that's an usual comment - but seriously, was expecting a little bit variety as it's close to the sea and also saw few Fish Bheri's !!
