Spent two weeks at the end of September at the Bon Sol to celebrate our Golden Wedding. Had our honeymoon in Majorca in 1967 (not at the Bon Sol) and felt it appropriate to return for our Golden. Have always wanted to try the Bon Sol and it was worth it.
Reception was very friendly and gave us a quick tour of the hotel's main features. Our room (a junior suite) had an excellent sea view and decent sized balcony. There were 121 steps down to the beach restaurant but these were no problem despite our being in our seventies, and we always managed the return journey (although this took longer).
The beach restaurant was our favourite for breakfasts and the evening dinner there was fine but we preferred the main restaurant in the evening because of the pianist (and occasional violinist).
The hotel really went to town on our Golden Wedding anniversary. When we returned to our suite after a day on the beach (and at the bar), the bed was beautifully decorated with rose petals, long stemmed roses and towels in a heart shape, and there was cava in an ice bucket, a basket of fruit, chocolates and a beautiful flower arrangement. When we went to the restaurant for dinner, Martin (the owner) quickly came over to congratulate us as did all the restaurant staff. We had the gourmet menu (with of course a bottle of wine despite having finished the bottle of cava in our room) and when it came time for desert we were presented with a beautiful chocolate cake with another bottle of cava!! To cap it all, when the cake was brought to our table the pianist played the love theme from Godfather 2. We couldn't let the cava lose its fizz so finished it off and we both had a wonderful night's sleep.
The hotel's facilities are first class and it is obvious that the owners take a pride in keeping the hotel in tip top condition. I know that the clientele seem mainly to be of the older generation (I'm 74 and felt reasonably young) but that shouldn't put off younger people. There were several families with young children whilst we were there and they all seemed to be having a good time and were well looked after by the staff.
One good point is that if you are on half-board, your second meal can be either lunch or dinner. We enjoyed every meal we had and there was plenty of variety at breakfast and lunch or dinner.
I've fancied going to the Bon Sol for a number of years and it was everything I had hoped for when we finally got there

There isn't a lot to say about this hotel that hasn't already been said. The place is spotlessly clean and very quirky.
There are lots of interesting artefacts including suits of armour in the public lounges.
The grounds are stunnng, very lush and green but unfortunately because of this and being October the mosquitoes were out in force!!
I have to say that the room was disappointing. We had asked for a bath which we got, the bathroom was somewhat dated. The bedroom was very comfortable but also in need of some updating. The big let down was the balcony which was well equipped with loungers and table and chairs but we didn't use it. The view was partially sea view but mainly over scrubby bushes and tiled roofs. There was a neglected area to the right of the balcony with dangling wires. A scruffy outlook. The room was in the main building which was very convenient for the dining rooms and one of the pools. I would definitely recommend a room with a full sea view.
The food was good. Lots of choice at breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Lunch at the pool restaurant was very nice especially the buffet option, also lovely to eat there at night.
The evening meal in the main restaurant was good on the whole. The food is very fresh and plentiful.
The hotel staff on the main are very, polite, helpful and efficient.
We are a young at heart couple in our sixties but I have to say the average age of guests was a lot older. There are facilities for children. 3 lovely pools, childrens playground, table tennis and golf.
Saying all this we had a relaxing and restful holiday.

this is a very pleasant hotel.Good rooms,excellent staff,good food,with a different choice of menu every day.The owner is on site and it shows.Gad a most enjoyable stay.Will return.Hopefully in the near future.

On the whole a positive holiday with a few hiccups .We loved the homely feel and decor. We were kindly upgraded but it back fired,our view was of the roof in front of us,tatty green fake grass .The staff were very friendly ,as was the owner .However when he asked us our options it was obvious that he was not really interested .They have lots of repeat customers so why change a winning formula .However the repeat customers were mainly seniors and if they want to survive once those regular customers no longer come back they will have to change .The food was not very good,pool bar closed at 6pm

What an absolute gem, so lovely to find old world charm in this day and age. The room and the view were lovely, the food and choice of menus were superb, the staff so friendly and helful without being over-zealous (this was despite on occasions some extremely rude treatment by a number of the guests) and the attention and courtesy shown by the family makes everyone feel a bit 'special'. In fact the Bon Sol has it all! We had a truly wonderful holiday, thank you to all of you, we will certainly return.
