we had a great time and my family loved it. full English breakfast perfectly cooked and much more. Theresa was very helpful with tips for places to visit. location was perfect as in centre of town and we walked around for food and sight seeing. Will definitely stay here again when next in Windermere. well done Theresa and Ian, please don't let the standard slip.

Good place and nicely located

The B & B is nicely located near all the eateries. Walk down for dinner. Departmental stores Sainsbury and Cooperative are all nearby. A 20 minutes walk will take you to Windermere Lake's Bowness Pier for the cruise. The breakfast is a real filler. Rooms are clean and done every day. One thing I did not like was hostess Teresa did not allow us to take an umbrella while it was a rainy day. But saw other boarders walking out with umbrellas. Being an Indian found it weird and racist. Why should you differentiate with an umbrella which you have kept for the guests only? I would love an answer to it.
Otherwise lovely place, great breakfast and lovely location....walking distance from train and bus station. Great stay. Found nothing wrong except the umbrella incident.

Nice B&B in the heart of Windermere

My wife and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed our stay. Our host was very accommodating - providing a local parking permit to make life easy and cooking wonderful full English breakfasts.

Excellent guest house, myself & my wife were made very welcome from 1st arriving. Teresa gave us a parking permit, meaning we could park anywhere near the house free of charge. Right in the middle of Windermere village, you can see the shops from your window. Breakfast was delicious, room was very clean and well presented. Teresa & Ian were a lovely couple, very knowledgeable about the area and gave us plenty of ideas on places to visit during our stay. It was my birthday during the weekend, they bought me a gift (not expected and a very nice surprise). I couldn't fault our 4 day stay at Bonny Brae and we will stay again

Just wanted to say that my family and I were pleasantly surprised and loved our five days stay this week. We normally stay in hotels but chose Bonnie Brae because it's ideally located in the heart of the village and walking distance of Lake Windermere. Theresa the owner was very attentive and warm towards us, our room and the guest house was always clean and tidy. We particularly appreciated the small touches, Theresa always asked about our evenings and days ahead, offering advice about where to go etc. Really enjoyed the breakfast, sausages every good as previously mentioned in the reviews! Really appreciated Theresa's kindness towards our 10 year old son too. Very happy stay.
