A relaxing and breathtaking place for a young family

This place is pure class. We travelled here with our two young daughters (6 months and 4 years old) and were so delighted from start to finish.
The place is set high up in Elkaduwa and our taxi took us through the tea plantations on this amazing winding road high up in the hills.
When you get the the main balcony the view is amazing and if you catch the sunset, spectacular. It goes great with an Ashburnham Gin and tonic.
We did the tea plantation tour and took a Tuk Tuk down to the tea factory which is a must.
Vish and Nadam gave the best service and ross and Rachel were our lovely joint managers.
All the Ashburnham crew were so good with our daughters and out up with our 4 year old following them around. Vish also has an amazing life story of overcoming adversity to become a great example of his community.
The restaurant was so amazing too. Reggie is a genius. Every meal was a culinary masterpiece. The guy and his team can cook anythig. The Sri Lankan curries were matched in depth of flavour and finesse with the gnocchi and tuna dishes.
There is of course a cup of tea whenever requested and cake for afternoon tea.
The rooms are also beautifully appointed and we had a family room which was so big that we could really stretch out.
Our 4 year old daughter loved the two dogs too and loved exploring.
Beautiful gem in the hills

What an excellent place to stay for a few days of blissful relaxation and tranquility. Set up in the tea plantation hillside about an hour's drive from Kandy Ashburnham is a wonderful countryside retreat in the most stunning scenery. Highlights were the delicious food and the divine G&Ts watching the sunset each evening.

As we drove up to Ash, we wondered where on earth we were being taken! We were not disappointed on arriving at a most beautiful tea plantation bungalow. We received a very warm welcome by Max on arrival and were made to feel very much at home straightaway. As there were only two other families staying at Ash at the time, we felt very special. The food was excellent, eaten on the verandah which was idyllic. We also visited the estate's very own private waterfall which was great fun and again made one feel very privileged. After that, Ash's resident chef, Reggie, treated us to a cooking lesson. All in all, a wonderful experience.
Wonderful setting and experience

We stayed here at the beginning of this year and it was a memorable experience. The rooms were each unique and very comfortable with lovely colours and the setting of the old bungalow was superb.
The food was awesome and the hosts were very friendly and helpful! HIghly recommended for a quiet and restorative visit!
