What People are saying

Pleasant comfortable hotel

I stayed here one night for business. The staff are friendly, the room was comfortable albeit a bit small, though I did have a balcony. The breakfast was delicious and they have a comfortable bar in the lobby. The bathroom had a tub and a very nice warm towel rack. The bathroom design leaned a bit too much toward the design side than the functional side, but still good.

Wow! This is a great hotel and restaurant!

We loved it. The room was clean and comfortable, not too big but the big balcony with table and chairs made up for the smallish size. Good bed. Good bathroom. But the real highlight of our stay was the restaurant in the hotel. A GEM! What a find. What a chef! The food was over the tip incredible. The whiskey collection among the finest I have ever seen, and I have been to many fine bars around the world. And the service, impeccable, with a smile. What a delightful weekend! Would return to Bologna just to stay here again. P.S. We tried to get that Blue Suite everyone writes about, but it was already reserved. Next time I'll book far in advance...

Would recommend.

Hotel is at good location. Room and bathroom are clean and big enough, but I could smell cigarette in bathroom. Probably from previous guest, but still it did bother me (that's why review is Very good instead of Excellence). It has nice balcony. Restaurant is very good. Generally hotel is very spacey

Absolutely top!

What a wonderful place to stay, we loved the blue suite on the top floor with the big patio overlooking the town. The jacuzzi looked inviting, wish I had more time to enjoy it.

The room was nice a big with everything you need/wan. Comfortable bed a what I like, soft pillows and a firm mattress that assured a good night sleep.

Staff at the hotel and the restaurant was very friendly. Breakfast was a joy and the entire stay left a great impression on me, will come back here again fir sure. 5*

$1000 later...

Upon checking in, we were asked for our passports. They were taken from us, and not returned. As in the past, we thought the hotel is holding our passports until checkout. So, at checkout (4am for a 7am flight home) we asked the same clerk, Paulo, for our passports. He replied that he did not have them and that he handed them back to us when we checked in. Knowing that he didn't, we pressed him to look for them. He lifted the keyboard, jostled some papers around on the desk and insisted that he gave them back to us. Then he went on to say that we had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Yes, we replied, and that we had paid for the meal by credit card. he said he had no record of the payment and that he needed the credit card to check his records. So now he has our passports and our credit card information. We were helpless, his word against ours. We took a cab at $;30 am to the police station, where we filed a police report. The cab driver then to the airport to reschedule our flights back to the US. A train ride took us to Florence to the US consulate for emergency passports, which took the entire day. We paid the $280 to get new passports, an additional $200 for a hotel room, $40 in train fees, $100 worth of cab rides, lunch, dinner, breakfast and 32 hours later, we were home, in the US. It was there we received the email from the hotel notifying us that they found our passports, in a drawer at the front desk. They apologized by offering us one free nights stay at their hotel. So, be warned.
