We stayed just the one night while investigating the local area, our welcome was friendly, room was large, clean and warm. There was a function that caused the restaurant to be closed, but we were told that the restaurant menu would be available in the bar. It wasn't, so we had bar meals, mine was beer battered cod, chips, peas etc. Too much batter for my taste, the chips were either overcooked (deep fried) or oil in the fryer was in need of replacing. Breakfast was well cooked and presented, but the setup in the dining area was just a little slapdash. Overall we were reasonably happy with this establishment.

Post code took us to another establishment, phoned reception and was given good directions.
Staff professional and friendly, Room was spacious. opted for bar food as restauarant (and bar area) was very cold.
Felt we were a burden though, will not stay here again.

We stayed recently for two nights in a superior room. The cost represented very good value for money for the standard of accommodation and good breakfast included. Our room was large and well equipped. The huge bed was very comfortable with good quality, spotlessly clean linen. Carpets and most of the furniture looked very new. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and offered dinner in the bar even though there was a large function in progress and we hadn't booked a table. The food was good pub-style fare, well cooked, quickly served and very tasty. Breakfast each day, served in the main restaurant, was perfectly adequate. Just two minor housekeeping issues - there was quite a build-up of mould on the bedroom window frames and the over-bath shower was rather fiddly to get just right temperature-wise. Without exception, every member of staff we encountered was friendly, welcoming and efficient. The view from our room out across the greens was lovely. Free Wi-Fi most welcome. All in all, an excellent and good value place to stay. Recommended.

Have just come back from a golfing weekend, the course itself is great and the green keepers deserve a pat on the back for the state of the whole course, very well presented. The hotel itself was very clean, and the rooms a good size. Breakfast could have been a bit hotter, but the food in the evening was superb with no complaints from the rest of our group. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a very nice experience and will certainly be going back again.

The Hotel layout down stairs has been updated very well, the breakfast was cooked on Saturday, which was excellent, but the buffet food even though very good, some of it was warm, and they ran out of cups, and orange juice, waitresses no very observant.
Room 117 - all I can say is there is very little noise proofing between rooms, and you can hear all the noises, which wakes you up or keep you awake. The radiators were noisey, and we could hear dripping water after heavy rain overnight, the bathroom shower was like going back to the 1970s, and shower head was broken, the room furniture was very dated 1970s pine furniture, even the table lamp was wobbly and not very sturdy.The barman never had a clue about spirits on top shelf the different Rums, and basically could not add up because we got charged two different prices for same drink, then he disappeared for 15 minutes while several waiting to be served, and waitress has to take over - and was not apologetic on his return, the waitresses were very friendly.
I cannot comment on the golf course we stayed as part of discount 2 night stay.
So all I can say is the hotel let it down because the hotel is in a beautiful position in the countryside, and edge of golf course
