Comfortable, extremely tidy and a good breakfast - perfect for Ullswater.
Jack Bon 25/08/2017 18:38I was in 'The Den' - perfect for a solo traveller. Single bed, shower just across the corridor (very good) and good storage space.
Brandlehow is extremely tidy, with a welcoming, warm interior. Parking is no issue, as you're given a disc, so that's one less worry.
I used Brandlehow as a base from which to head into Ullswater and the surrounding area, which is was perfect for. 15 minutes from Pooley Bridge and 25-30 from Glenriddig.
The breakfast was excellent, with a very nice range of cooked and cold choices. You won't be disappointed.
Extremely comfortable
Mike Pon 08/08/2017 09:20Our room was rather small but still comfortable. There was good hanging space in the wardrobe and adequate shelf space. There was a small work space. One comfortable chair and a padded stool that was a good height for the work space.
Tea/coffee facilities and a hairdryer were available as well as a tiny fridge.
The bathroom was excellent with a large walk-in shower and adequate shelf space.
Breakfast was really good. both the cold and cooked choices.
My only negative is the lack of parking, Lanie will provide a time disk for ones car, but I was initially rather worried about leaving our hired car, with both our large cases inside the boot, in the street overnight.
Comfortable B&B
John Fon 02/08/2017 16:30Our ensuite room was attractive, spacious, clean and well maintained. Fully furnished with ample storage and the "extras" - coffee & tea making, biscuits, toiletries. Breakfasts are really special with, in addition to the usual Full English, a choice of several cooked dishes to recipes of the house - kidneys, fish cakes, etc.
The couple who run the place are clearly dedicated to making your stay enjoyable without being intrusive.
Time limited on-street parking outside. Next to town centre.

The Hosts have excelled them selves in the intention to provide accommodation that people would want to return to time and time again the room we stayed in was on an upper floor was fitted out to a very high standard has was the rest of the accommodation.
All this can only be exceeded by the amazing choices for breakfast presented in a very professional manner.
If you are going anywhere near Penrith this is the place to stay.

Plenty of choice for breakfast and the room was so clean we couldn't believe it hadn't been recently refurbished.
Would highly recommend, we will definitely return
