Great location

A very quirky little hotel, with some nice rooms; some are rather cramped. In need of some investment and updating, but everywhere clean and the lady owner very helpful. Best feature is its proximity to the marina and the town,- all main attractions are close to hand. Access - steep stairs up to reception - would be a problem for anyone with mobility problems or a very large suitcase.
Friendly staff and old-fashioned, but typical interior

The residencial has a good location and the staff is friendly. If you need anything, they can take care. The interior is old-fashioned; it feels as if you are in a typical Portugese home. The halls are narrow and well yes, the residencial has a bit of a musty smell. It is not expensive, we paid 25 euro for a two person room with bathroom. We slept very well. I found it an interesting experience to stay in such a residencial.
Truly terrible but the location is great so it's fine for the price.

The managements is shocking and charm is definitely not top of their priority. They are rude and refuse to be civil pretending they don't speak english. We were very cold and the "complimentary toiletries" were lots of old used soaps. They do provide kettles in the public areas but no mugs, spoons or dishes and most of the staff are not happy when you ask for them. While the service was diabolical I enjoyed the location. The beds were awful and the shower was unbelievably bad but the price was very good. You take what you get on this one. I'd actually stay there again if I was in faro cos it was cheap and we did most of our eating out. You kind of grow to enjoy the surliness of the management.
Traditional, excellent location, would love to go back.

I'm one of these people who by choice would always go to 4*hotels/accommodation. But, Residential Dandy was picked by my partner for a break at New Year and I have to say I loved this place. Right in the centre of Faro, roughly 3 minutes walk to the marina and shops (and there's so much choice you could spend a few days here, streets angling off other streets and this goes on for what seems like forever) 5 minutes walk to the bus station with another few minutes added on to go to the train station. Sorry I didn't get the lady's name but she was great, nothing troubled her, her English was great and she had obviously thought of everything to cover in this little gem of a place. There was a library, free wifi, a soft seated TV area, a vending fridge with cold drinks and snacks, tea/coffee machine and there was even a machine for ice cubes! Clean towels every day in the traditional room that had an ensuite, air conditioning also that came in handy at night as it got quite chilly. Yes the bath was a bit worn but still very clean, everywhere was clean, everyday. I just loved this place and it was excellent value for money. I'd go back anytime. Anyone that does stay here should visit the church at the top of the street, it has a very interesting area, "chapel of bones", bones/skulls belonging to monks in 1800's. Well worth a visit.
For one night

Good location, nice traditional look inside. However, we asked for a non smoking room, wich was probably right next to smoking rooms because we could smell cigarettes. If you're planning to relax a couple of hour in your room or hotel/hostel, I would not recommend This Hostel. If you're on a budget, then go ahead!
