Should be condemned!

My partner booked for 1 nights stay here for 28 October 2017. It was a rushed booking so we have well and truly learned our lesson.
The place is horrible. My heart sank as we arrived outside the building which looked like a drug den!! The place was dirty, net curtains filthy and torn and looked utterly run down. My partner said it may be better inside so gave the benefit of the doubt, but to no avail.
This place should not be open for business. Its run down, looks filthy dirty. En route to our room I looked at the bathroom. It was disgusting. So run down and disgusting there is no way I would have used it. We went to our room and the moment we walked in there was no chance on this earth we were staying there. It was totally shabby, dirty, stains on the carpet from god only knows what, window frame so rotten the window wouldn’t close, no lock on the window, the list goes on!!!
It was £67 for the night in central London but just not worth it and I’d have paid more to stay elsewhere.
Stay here at your peril!!
Horrific!

It served it's purpose for a few hours sleep before our train but this place 😷
Reception staff was friendly and accommodating but that's the best you can say about this hotel.
Its dirty and dire. If you're expecting a restful night, think again!!! Trains, London traffic and drunk people.
Disgusting hotel!
Veering from unpleasant to vile

I do not wish to be too harsh about the Budget Guest House. This is a hotel that neither tries to deceive potential customers- it is made quite clear that this is an ‘no frills budget hotel’- and is not without redeeming features. The location, within a brisk five-minute walk of Kings’ Cross Station, was ideally suited to our purposes, which was a two-day visit to London, the first day spent at the Warner Brothers’ Studio in Watford, and the second sightseeing in central London. Moreover, in terms of price, the hotel was the cheapest room available in the Kings’ Cross/Camden area which did not involve the entirely unappealing prospect of dormitory accommodation.
However, I cannot let the stay at the hotel pass without comment on some of the less salubrious features that my friend and I encountered during our stay. From the outset the hotel was very tired and in dire need of a facelift. The twin bedroom, which presumably for reasons of a convenient transformation into a family room, was equipped with bunkbeds, was quite possibly one of the most unpleasant rooms I have ever stayed in. The dark brown carpet was dusty and unclean, replete with stains, with a colour scheme that if it was intended to hide the dirt, abjectly failed. The bunkbeds were particularly uncomfortable, and the metal frame squeaked with every movement, thus disturbing the other guest- neither of us had a particularly good night’s sleep. The bedding was clean, but the pillows left a lot to be desired in terms of their thickness, and needed to be bolstered by the addition of bathroom towels. The windowsill was thick with dust, and the frame on the outside had rotted away; whilst the window itself could not be left open without being wedged by its broken bolt. One potential upside was the presence of a large woolly blanket, decorated with the face of a leopard, which had been left in the wardrobe, presumably ready to pounce upon an unsuspecting traveller. This might have been a thoughtful gesture, and no doubt welcome in the winter months, but the absolutely filthy condition of the blanket rendered this use unlikely, to say the least.
If the bedroom was unpleasant, then the shared bathroom was downright disgusting. We did not use the shower, which was heavily stained around the plughole, due to repeated use without cleaning; whilst the tiles around the shower and by the door had broken away and not been replaced, exposing a revolting black-stained plaster which was sodden with condensation. Without question the appalling conditions in the bathroom had been caused by the fact that the ventilation system looked to have long since stopped working, and was left, redundant and clogged with dust.
The old maxim ‘you get what you pay for’ has never seemed more relevant with regard to the Budget Guest House. I would recommend to any potential customers reading this review that they pay a little more and do not stay at this hotel. I, for one, certainly would not do so again.
Danger to life !! Do not stop here

DO NOT STOP here ,
Now I was in London for the bike ride and wanted a cheap solo room and this seemed to tick the box.
All I wanted was a bed but I got.
It started to rain around 1am and within 5 mins Water pooring through the roof into the electrical points and lights on the Celine. This was on my room and in the corridor. All the other guest were not well speaking English and could really complain to the women who worked on reception 8am - 11pk because they two couldn't speak English very well.
Now I complained the next day as soon as someone came back but they said fill a form out and their manager will respond !!! I did and left as I felt my life was in danger water and electricity don't mix . It's been two weeks now and still no refund. I have managed to contact the lead hotel who they say manage the guest house but they keep messing me around . I am continuing to pursue though as someone could get killed.
Tiny room for 3 people

Location wise it was brilliant but that's about it. We booked a triple room for three people but got given a box room with not enough room to open the door, the coving was coming away from the wall. The plug sockets are practically hanging off the wall. The bed was really rickety with every move we were scared that the bed would collapse. The shared bathroom was concerning there was a sign to not flush used toilet paper down the toilet but to put used/soiled toilet paper in the bin (not a sanitary bin and the bin didn't have a lid). The plaster work was broken and there was a leak from the ceiling going in to said toilet paper bin. The floor was tiled with wall tiles and there is no slip mat in there.
This place I believe to be a health hazard and I will not be staying again.
