What People are saying

Very quiet place but too far from everything

Inès R on 07/11/2016 10:35

We enjoyed our 2 nights at burapa because it was very quiet, clean and modern. The owners were really nice.

We decided to cancel our last night at burapa because it is really too far away from the old city. You have to pay 200 bahts each time you need to go somewhere. You cannot go to your room between two activities to take a shower for example.

But they are really nice people.

Nice room

NatBrad_66 on 09/02/2016 11:00

Nice decor and lovely architecture - you get what you pay for which is not cheap. A sink in the kitchen would have been nice as there is ample room. And some decent sized tea/cofee cups - those small things we found also in other hotels are so annoyingly small! Too many light switches too. Toilet smelled all the time. Shower would only be barely warm and was a big sore point for us as the days were cold. According to housekeeping nothing could be done. :-( No shampoo provided but toothbrushes were?? Breakfast was nice not fantastic but lovely that it is cooked hot for you. Undercover carpark. Good signage to find it and is necessary as it's tucked in a side street. Not much in walking distance for tourists except for great seafood restaurant down the road which had a good outdoor atmosphere and live band, and the 7 11 before that. Very quiet except for the occasional loud plane - must be under a flight path. I am torn between rating very good and average!

Quiet and friendly place to stay

steffielay on 06/01/2016 07:22

The room was spacious, clean and nice. Although the hotel located a bit out of the city but overall the hotel staffs is friendly and helpful to guide you and take you around. Food is not and issue around there. If you want some family and friendly kind of styles this hotel is good.

Good for attending the New ChiangMai Convention centre

bboymsia on 24/10/2015 09:21

If you are attending a conference at the new Chiangmai Convention centre, then this might be an alternative to having to make the commute from Nimman or the Old City. Set off the Chang Puak road, some tuk tuk drivers had some difficulty finding it, so bring along a card from the hotel which has the phone number. You can also mention that it is near the Chang Puak Police Station. There is another hotel called the Buaraya hotel that confuses the local transport guys.
This is a small new hotel, with very comfortable, quiet and spacious rooms (16 in total). We had a balcony overlooking a vacant plot of land that was the playground of many birds, providing a pleasant start to the day with their birdsong. The airconditioning works, and the bathroom is huge with a decent shower, and most importantly, the (free) wifi was available in our room. Breakfast was Thai style (we requested this rather than a western breakfast) and delicious. Ms Phon at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and even gave us a (free) lift to the Convention Centre with her car (although some others opted to walk the 1.5km). There are a couple of complimentary bicycles which we took out to check out the nearby park and lake (with the tribal museum) - an easy flat ride done in just over an hour. The same bike trail would make a good jogging session too. Restaurants nearby vary with one nice seafood restaurant (Thajene ChomChan) and some smaller and less salubrious ones. Nearby notable temple that is worth a visit would be Wat Jed Yod / Chet Yot.
A ride into the old town or the night bazaar would set you back around 200 Thai Baht (standard price for non-Thais) one way or perhaps cheaper (100 baht) if you walked out to the main road to hail one of the red trucks.
The downside of staying here? If you like nipping in and out of your hotel room, then it might be better to be in the middle of the city. And there is no pool.

Nice hotel, but a bit isolated

SandrinhaT on 30/04/2015 21:11

My boyfriend and spent three days in Chiang Mai and we stayed at this hotel. We found that the room was spacious, clean and quiet (very quiet...). However, the hotel is fairly isolated with a few small stalls/shops around for any basic needs. It is quite far from the centre and the taxi fares are around 200 - 250 bhats each way and you will need the taxi because riding a bicycle or a moped can be very unsafe. Both my boyfriend and I each used one of the three bicycles of the hotel and felt that the roads were unsafe to try to go further that the nearest stall. The hotel staff were kind to offer to pick us up from the airport for 220 bhats which is the same rate as a taxi.
Unfortunately, the hotel offers very basic breakfast as they do not cater for that in the premises.
