What People are saying

Prime spot on the beach

WP664 on 14/04/2017 18:03

Be sure to ask for a beach front unit for sea view and sounds of the waves. The rooms are comfortable enough with good air conditioning and adequate en-suite bathrooms. Meals are basic Ghanaian food and service is overall friendly. There is a nice long beach for easy walking including up to the local village and boat launch area. There is a nice beachfront restaurant, and while service is a bit uneven at times, it is enjoyable to sit there in the evenings (mosquito repellant compulsory). A walk for some shopping in the nearby village is also worth doing. The experience is quieter and more private than the other beachfront establishments.

Busua Beach Resort weekend

Pretty far off the beaten path. But nice beach and the hotel tries. Great people. The resort is a bit tired. The rooms rustic. The Wi-Fi worked about 20% of the time. Nice beach but I'm told they just cleaned it for a music festival taking place that weekend. Seemed like a large millennial crowd there to drink and get high. Sort of need a reason to go to this area.

Disastrous Stay, horrible service - Do not go here!

Rebecca F on 19/02/2017 10:02

We had high hopes for Busua as friends had stayed there before, but were shocked by the poor service and conditions of the hotel. We booked an exec room and in the course of 3 days experienced electrocution from all metal fixtures in the bathroom (electricity was not grounded, then huge flooding when they tried to fix it (both in the bathroom and the bedroom. Just when we thought we saw the worst of it, our sink started leaking and then the next day the AC unit. The service was terrible - it took them hours to get to the room to fix things, even when it was literally raining in the bedroom and bathroom due to the way in which they had repaired the water heater to stop the electrocution. The straw that broke the camel's back was on the last day when our friends got robbed walking home on the beach at night. They lost their cell phones and the hotel refused to call the police because "it didn't happen on their property." Finally, we all had serious challenges checking out. The hotel promised us a discount, but did not respect it. We argued with them for nearly an hour, there was no manager on site, and finally we gave up. We will NEVER go here again and strongly recommend against patronizing this place as the service was horrible, it was overpriced, the food wasn't great (our lunch came out cold one day), and overall the hotel was a total disaster.

Great getaway!

Absolutely beautiful! Oceanfront rooms are definitely the way to go! Easy walking access to the beach, and plenty of sitting areas. The water is clear and the waves are awesome! The outdoor restaurant is steps from the water, but does need better mosquito repelling for night dining, and the swimming pool chemicals were off producing green, murky water. There's also a great gym for those needing to burn some calories before hitting the waves. We didn't want to leave!

Nice Accommodations.

We stayed in a basic room. Had a KingSized mattress. Bathroom had water heater for showering. Room had excellent air conditioning.
Wonderful complimentary breakfast.
Great beach access and walking with clean sand area. There was a fantastic exercise room with at least 3 m height windows overlooking the Gulf of Guinea.
Evening meal options good as well.
