In the heart of Osu

I stayed for 11 nights. Although the room I had could do with a coat of white paint....its a charming hotel with very kind staff.
Great location near ATMs, salad resturants , not too far from the airport.
They like a reasonable deposit on arrival if staying for a while.
Simple but adequate breakfast, clean rooms, clean bathrooms and toilets.
U could imagine your somewhere in the Mediterranean.
Alright - but would not stay again.

In general everything was ok. Rooms are ok, price is good, internet is slow but works, staff is friendly, and the patio is really nice, however the thing that I really did not like - is the feeling that the owner does not treat his staff properly. For that reason I felt uncomfortable, and would not stay there again.
Best ambience to stay with and chill out !!

I frequently travel through Accra and for the past two years, I always stay at Byblos. It's conveniently located less than 500m from Oxford Street in the heart of Osu, a popular tourist and nightlife destination. The hotel has nice rooms (A/C and hot water) with friendly staff and are reasonably priced, given the location. It has undergone major renovations in the past year or so and those who had stayed many years before might not recognize it. There are single and double rooms, along with a cute little bungalow on the outside. There's a nice outdoor restaurant area that's attached to the bar and food and drink can be found at all hours. The free breakfast is also great: egg, green pepper and onion omelette, with fresh toast, coffee/tea and butter and jam - ask for the fresh pepe, if you can stand the heat, for a nice egg sandwich!
I've read some of the other negative reviews on here and couldn't disagree more. This place has always been clean and I've never had a problem with hotel staff or theft. It's one of my favorite places in Accra - give it a try!
If you're in the mood for more western fare, the hotel is also close to nice restaurants like Pinocchio's and Sunshine Salads. There are a number of local spots and street food nearby on Oxford Street as well. In less than five minutes walk in any direction, you may find Koala Supermarket, Global Mama's (great for gifts and clothing made from local artisans), and a salon that does decent hair cuts, manicures, pedicures and massages. Also nearby is a fully-fledged art supply store and some local soap and lotion products. Trashy Bags, a popular gift shop that repurposes old vinyl signboards and plastic materials into hand bags and duffles, is close, too. Within a ten-minute walk, you'll find the famed Aunty Esther's place with lovely batik and tie-and-dye products. There's also a casino nearby, if that suits your fancy. Oxford Street has a vibrant nightlife with plenty of dance clubs, bars and spots that are full of people ready to dance at all hours of the day.
The easiest reference for taxi drivers (about a GHs 20-30 fare, depending on the driver's mood) is Osu, by Danquah Circle, behind the Total Station (on the right hand side, black and yellow signboards). Depending on traffic, it's only a 15-30 minute ride to the airport.
Best choice to stay in Osu on a budget

Byblos offers twin rooms at 100 USD and double rooms at 85 USD and its location is very central. You reach almost everything in Osu in a short walking distance. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. This is Ghana though, you don't get a room with the standards you'd get in London or New York. Be aware of this. We had only little water running in the bathroom and the room was a little bit smelly BUT it was clean, the staff and especially the owner, super friendly and the food in their lebanese restaurant was delicious. Breakfast's even included. I can highly recommend the place. + Fast wifi + nice staff + good food + very central
