Didn’t arrive till late (11:30) and at exactly one minute past ten am the guy was knocking at my door to hustle me out of the room even though I was already packed and leaving!! This McDonald’s style attitude to customer service let’s down what is otherwise a pleasant room in a good but noisy location. Don’t give business to people who don’t appreciate customers.

Located near the heart of Byron Bay the Byron Motor Lodge Motel is I think very good value!
At off peak rates it's great so I just don't understand the negative reviews it has received? I'm sure the owners don't either? I found the owner Manager Ashley extremely professional and friendly he even called me at 8pm to see what time I was arriving and waited for me to arrive.
The rooms are huge, very clean and tidy, has reverse cycle air conditioning and heating and everything you will need in a motel style accommodation.
The bed was really comfortable and I love this place so will return.
It's walking distance to Byron Bay shops and the beach. What more could you want?
Rates will always be expensive peak season so get it over it, it is Byron Bay remember!

This motel resembles the old style country motor inns we used to stay in as a kid.
Byron by it's nature isn't really an ocean view option, unless you have really big bucks. Plus, nobody ever says 'wow, is that all' when you're given a price.
Byron Motor Lodge is clean. The rooms are quite big. It is SO close to the CBD that you can pop in and out as you please (a lot of the hotel strip is a fair hike from town). Plus, the owners are really friendly.
A good option, I would stay there again.

I was looking for something clean tidy and convenient to town and this place fits the bill. I stayed two nights in a busy period so the $180 charge for one bedroom unit was to be expected. It's a little dated but well maintained and I'd stay again. It's on a busy road do can get a bit noisy.

Arrived in Byron Bay late afternoon on a Sunday. Had not booked and just walked in. Large room very clean. Owners friendly and nothing too much trouble. Laundry on site and washing line, which is better than a tumble dryer. Decided to stay an extra night so could explore the town and beach. Leave the car and walk as it is only a short distance to the beach. Only down side is the price is a bit high compared to other motels we have used as we travel along the Pacific highway.
