Quite and relaxing
JACKIE338on 02/11/2017 09:57We stayed at the Cabogata mar in September for 1 week. There were only about 4 English couples there the rest of the hotel was mainly Spanish guests. The hotel, room and staff was good the only problem we had was the food, which was just warm there are microwaves in the dinning room but I don't expect to microwave food when I go on holiday especially when I mainly go all inclusive. There's a lovely beach, promenade and park in front of the hotel which is accessed by a gate. Also five minutes walk from the hotel there's a bar, supermarket and three restaurants. The hotel was nice and relaxed and there was no rushing for sunbeds you could one at anytime you wanted.
Our Holiday
rosemarier669on 04/10/2017 11:32Great time But all the meals were cold that means the hot ones also . We tended to go in when the dining room opened as most guests were from Spain they ate a lot later than us. and we thought they were not quite ready.
Perfect hotel whit geat show and personal. Greetings from Adam :-)

Great holiday
Ponytail186on 25/09/2017 00:24This was a fantastic location for a beach / pool side only holiday. There really is very little to do here outside the hotel complex, and you are a €25 trip each way into Almeria town by taxi.
The rooms are clean, no tea / coffee making facility, or iron in the room. Wifi is brilliant, as was the AC in the room. The only English language to channels are BBC News & Sky News. Good water pressure, and plenty of hot water. The room was quiet, although, of you have a pool view you will also have disco noise.
There were plenty of loungers available each day by the pool, and a very quiet beach a 5min walk from the hotel. There is a adult swimming pool and 2 smaller pools suitable for children.
There is a large buffet breakfast- lunch- dinner daily. It has wide availability, but it's not going to blow your mind quality wise, and is generally luke warm. There are other limited options available a short walk away. If you are travelling with children be warned no dinner is available until 8pm onwards.
British travellers be warned you do need a basic knowledge of the Spanish language. Reception staff speak English, but bar / catering staff generally don't, and if you are going to the local / Almeria bars and restaurants many staff do not speak any English.
Overall we've had a lovely stay, and would recommend if you are willing to take on the above points.
Bad holiday -avoid
Jenna Mon 14/09/2017 14:15We are currently staying in the cabogata mar hotel, this is our 4th day out of seven and all we have encountered is problems, rude staff, unorganised mess, broken air-conditioning etc...
We arrived on Monday, the weather was beautiful and hotel looked great.
Went to our room which faced straight out onto the pool :) (1119) put our bathers on and went straight out to investigate the hotel.
Our first day was nice, Aircon worked, bed comfy, food a little poor but thought it's the first day just wait to see what tomorrow brings.
After a day of chilling we went back to our room about 830, we had been up since 2 am. The evening entertainment was on which was nice, very loud and only outside our room so was expecting it to be loud. The entertainment didn't finish till after midnight, we were nackered.
The following morning we asked to change room to a quieter area of the hotel, this was arranged for us, at a bit of a struggle j must say as all the staff didn't understand or spoke very little english. Our new room was the same as our current room apartment from the Aircon sounded like a motor running very loud , we refused this room as we would be no better off, the second room was the same, the receptionist said she would get back to us after the engineer has looked at it.
Later in the evening the engineer had fixed the noisy Aircon, and we were happy to be moving to a quieter are of the hotel.
First night in the new room (3229) the beds are like lying on a plank of wood! So hard and uncomfortable! I actually woke up so stiff and with back pain we had to ask for something to put on the mattress to make them softer, we thought a blanket would be the best thing to ask for and it also wouldn't create a problem as we were not asking for a new room. 2 days later still no blanket, and no one's seems to care! Reception just nod and smile. we have resorted to sleeping on the sofa bed, which is comfier, but not great.
Today is Thursday and we have a couple's relaxation massage booked, we turn up at the time booked and they can't do it as they close in 1 hour, so they offered us an appointment on Monday (we leave Sunday) now suddenly all of the 3 women at the spa desk can't speak English anymore !! Annoyed is not the word.
As a heads up you have to carry around a pieces of card with you to every meal so they can cross off if you have been for dinner breakfast or lunch, you also have to wear a wrist band which is colour coded so not sure why we need both, just makes things more annoying really.
The only good things i can say about this hotel are that the pools are nice and it's situated very close to the beach. We have a fab view of the sea outside our room and the sun sets are beautiful.
I've never been treated like crap before on holiday, have staff that cannot even be bothered to pour you a drink when there working behind the bar, they all look very miserable, the hotel is predominantly 99% Spanish but this doesn't excuse the fact that they are all wearing badges stating they speak various languages included English!!but actually don't.
The food is so monotonous and also comes luke warm or cold! , no variety from one day to another. We have a week of the same stuff !! If you like being treated poorly, eating the same food and sleeping eough, stay here !
