Best deal in St John’s for a beautiful room
Lesterbeachon 26/10/2017 14:20The reviews for this guest house are a bit mixed but this was a wonderful place to stay and wish we had stayed longer. I think the problems arise because there is no reception at check in. We reserved on line and when we got to the house there was an envelope waiting for us with a code for the door and our room key. The house is quite grand and well restored. A large dining room is on the main floor. Our room was up a wide staircase on the second floor. High ceilings, king size bed, couch and ensuite with heated tile floors. Very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast is not advertised but there was plenty to chose from : juice, coffee, tea, toast fruit, pastries and a delicious berry pie. You may not see the manager at all during your stay but this should not detract you from staying here. There is a small parking lot behind the house. It is about a ten min walk downhill to the Main Street with shops and restaurants. The basilica and the Rooms are just a short walk away. This is a great deal and is highly recommended.

petesnow123on 26/09/2017 21:26Hotels were full booked. Major convention on, so I hopped around to Guest Houses. I stayed in 4 different places over two weeks.Each was different and pros and cons. Far better value than conventional hotels. The master suites are majestic. I stayed in a room with a king and it was quite nice. Location must be perfect for tourists but I was there for work and work I did. Very quiet. WiFi worked, phone worked.
Mixed feelings
MJnMikeon 14/08/2017 16:31This is a self-check inn , a ;little weird but no problem. The room was HUGE, lots of space and furniture with a big comfy bed . Its an older place but well kept up. The breakfast is nothing more than a continental breakfast with a very NON-helpful person in attendance.
Great Changes, Great Stay
karlabiggers_65on 09/08/2017 01:34The first time I stayed at Cabot was 1 years ago and it was absolutely horrible. The manager at the time was not pleasant to deal with. However, when we got a last minute deal, me and my husband decided to give Cabot a second chance and it was worth it! There is new young, pleasant staff. We were greeted with a nice young man, who went as far as to help us with our bags to the top floor. It is definitely worth the price you pay for!
TERRIBLE SERVICE -- BOOKING NOT AVAILABLE
524maryvon 29/07/2017 22:33Booked via Expedia. Followed up with call to Cabot house to confirm. When arriving for our stay there was NO BOOKING. Night auditor was of NO help. Partial blame on Expedia, but also on Cabot House. You would think that a telephone conversation confirming an online booking would be a good thing to do -- IT WAS NOT IN THIS CASE!
