Travelling today, we rely on being able to manage our affairs online, supported by reliable wifi and internet in the privacy of our room. When we wish to disconnect, we chose an area with no internet coverage. If an accommodation in an urban environment like Cairns ticks the box free wifi, we trust they will offer a reliable high speed internet connection (I’m not even saying GB, MB would absolutely suffice) in the privacy of our room. Having checked into the Queenslander we found the wifi to be free but useless:
Emails: emails with a few more KB don‘t reach us, which means you‘re practically disconnected
Online newspaper (FT, Guardian): upload fails
Facebook: posts don‘t get through
WhatsApp: only text gets through
Fotos: up or download of even one foto fails.
That would still be OK if you can buy up to high speed, but that was not available.
The apartment was spacy, nice with a little porch, well furnished. The staff was very friendly and helpful in any way they could, and accomodated a late check out.
Poor rating nonetheless to the Property for not understanding basic traveller needs. Had we known we would not have booked

This is a hard one to review as there lots of bonus not much to complain about. I told my husband not to expect much for breakfast as the hotel was cheap and breakfast was included well breakfast was very nice bacon, eggs fresh fruit. cereal, juice everything you could ask for nice surprise. The rooms very spacious the furniture bit old and I found the bed uncomfortable but was so tired did not care. Our room overlooked the front pool and the main road but did not hear noise at night coming from there. A little bit of noise coming from within the hotel but nothing much. The hotel is located a little way out of town so if you don't have a car a bit of a hike. The staff were all very nice friendly and helpful. The other bonus was you could leave your bags at reception after you check out and when you come back they offer you a room to shower in that was very nice. So yes if I had a car would stay here again.

We got a very large spacious room for three with a large bathroom and balcony.
The room was clean, well equipped and the staff was nice and friendly.
The hotel is located 20-25 min walk from the center of the city and all the bars/restaurants. It is however 5 minutes from the beautiful boardwalk along the beautiful beach line of Cairns (free public pool, several open gyms, kids facilities).
Small thing to be improved, the WiFi is on the slow slide and can be improved.
Great place to stay in with decent price in a not-so-cheap city.

Great place to stay with family. The two of us stayed in a studio room and family of 5 stayed in a larger suite with kitchenette and adjoining separate bedroom for kids. The kitchenette was very small but was ok for making simple meals like burgers (no toaster). Enjoyed the lovely pool area but would have been perfect if there was a bbq for guests to use. Location is great and is walking distance or short drive to esplanade and some local shops and takeaways. It is only a 5 min drive into central Cairns. Close to airport. Room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean and bright with good rainshower head. Front desk staff were very friendly and accomodating and provided extra fresh towels whenever we needed. Parking is on the street in front or a car park on the side.

we were in room 28 ground floor - big area no street noise but with a balcony if you needed one. Staff were professional and helpful the only thing was the 2 km from the main eating areas of Cairns but Uber support solved this quickly
