What People are saying

Only for Good location

travelcap aon 21/11/2017 03:53

Stay only for good location,On the beach and very close to wall mart and restaurants.rooms other than sea facing suite are best avoidable.Cramped, no sunlight(As you can not open the window shades because the window opens on the passage way where everyone walking can see inside your room.Internet works sometimes during the day(Consider it as not available),Sea facing suites are nice and spacious but you can't use the sitting area as the AC is not effective.Be prepared to sweat if using the sitting area during daytime.Lacks basic amenities for such price. One coffee mug is available in the room as part of amenities (coffee is charged),if you want to use a glass you can buy from nearby wall mart.
Very nice view from sea facing rooms and great for families and kids.

Unkept

The only good thing about this hotel is the location on the beach with amazing views of the ocean.

The hotel looks and feels tired. Very. It is not the only Camino Real property that feels this way, the one in Mexico City airport and Polanco do so as well, but none like this one.

So, my first room had this terribly noisy AC and they had to switch me to another room. Furniture and fixtures, old, very used and creaking.

The service....meh. The food...meh. The pool....meh. The pool at night, noisy, with a blaring loudspeaker even though there was only one family "enjoying" the noise. Had to eat inside in a very tired restaurant. The beer was cold though.

They charge for the coffee provided in the room. The shampoo and stuff, nice.

The hotel has seen better days.

If it isn't for business, don't bother with Manzanillo, go spend your money elsewhere in México.

Best location for relaxing

This is an old hotel located in the middle of Manzanillo's bay just on the beachfront. Rooms are spacious, several with two separate bedrooms and a living room with an ocean view balcony. I think maintenance could be improved since the rooms, though are very clean, have many minor details (windows, doors, shades, kitchenette) that together do not give the best impression. There is a beautiful terrace just by the pools where you can have breakfast or dinner with a great view of the sea and beach. The quality of the food is fair, a bit overpriced and frankly not so attractive compared to many nearby places. The staff very kind, all of them and making you feel welcome. After a busy day this place is good for relaxing while enjoying a sunset, away from the noisy resorts.

Loved Spring Break at Camino Real

Wonderful service, amazing ocean view, and extremely clean, well-kept hotel. This was our first time to Manzanillo and we just want to go back! Camino Real is on a lovely beach (although better to admire than to swim - the surf is pretty rough there - we took a taxi to Club Santiago area to body surf and enjoy the water). All staff at Camino gave fantastic service, concierge was very friendly and helped us get set up with horseback riding tour which was great fun. We always had great food and drinks at the restaurant on site. There are many things within walking distance. A couple of our other favorite restuarants in walking distance - El Fogon and El Vaquero.

Great location. Bit tired, but still nice.

I was there for business, so did not do any touristy stuff.
The beach location is wonderful with the rolling Pacific surf to lull you to sleep. Swimming is a little dangerous as the beach slopes sharply and waves are big. Probably a strong undertow so be careful and certainly don't let the kids go in. They are better off in the two swimming pools anyway.
The best rooms are the junior suites on the beach side and really only $30 or so more with double the space. Food is not too special, but I did not expect four star anyway. I had a problem with very noisy neighbors and cigarette smoke coming through the AC but with a little gentle pushing the management changed me to another room and also upgraded m+e to the beach side, which was very nice. From what I can tell, this is the best place to stay in Manzanillo. Clean, nice location and attentive staff.
