Bike Ride : Bangalore to Munnar

6 Bikes 10 People had a nice ride from Bangalore to Munnar, covering some 500+ kms in March. After the exhausting ride, Camp Noel provided us the much required rest with the quality food and service. It was big property, accommodating more than 10 cottages. It was well-maintained with lush green grass providing the facility a beautiful look. They also organized campfire and barbecue. Barbecue was charged but the campfire was within the package. There are two routes to reach this facility. One is via Top Station which one is easier in terms of Road Condition. Other one is complete off-road kind (which we took, not purposely though). GPS will select the second one as it is shorter. But, it left to you to make the choice :)
2 Nights at Camp Noel, Munnar

We had stayed at Camp Noel for 3 days and 2 nights in mid-April - we were two families and hence opted for the two bedroom cottage with living/dining room.
First of all, the place perfectly suits those travelers who are in search of privacy. The resort is located around 46 kms from Munnar town at a place called Pazhathottam. The other reviewers have already mentioned about how to reach the camp and the route, so not elaborating more on that - it will take between 1.5 - 2 hours to reach here from the town - so do factor that in your travel. Needless to say, it is a unique place, the location being the major highlight.
Inside the resort, you have great views of the valley, and there is plenty of space for kids (if you are travelling with family). The highlight of our stay was the continuous breeze whistling down from all sides of the surrounding valley. We went there during peak summer in Kerala, still there was no need for A/C or fan with the temperature dropping to ~18 degrees during the night, thanks to the altitude.
The service is great, as expected. The restaurant serves real good variety food - considering how far the hotel is from the main town. Whether you are a veg or a non-veg, you wont be disappointed with the spread. The food/kitchen/restaurant are kept very clean, the food was also very tasty. The facility offers trekking to the nearby valley, but we opted to enjoy the property and just relax indoors.
Coming to the stay, the 2 bed-room cottage offered really comfortable stay - with 2 medium sized bedrooms, living/dining room and fireplace. The bedroom was decently sized, the bed is not the posh type that you see in high end hotels. The bathroom can be maintained a bit better - there were some minor issues with bathroom fittings/accessories (already shared the findings with the staff).
As I mentioned in the beginning, the place suits best for people who want to spend time away from the crowd. Considering the distance from the town, it will be a bit difficult for you to go sight-seeing in and around Munnar (of course, top station is nearby). It is also better to inform the hotel in advance if you have elderly people with you - so that they can arrange cottages near the main lobby/restaurant - to avoid walking up and down.
Overall - a great location, very good service and superb views all around - make this place a special one !! Would rate overall 4.5/5 !!

It was good stay for our family. Camp Noel is 1.5 hours from Munnar town 45km deep inside Shola national park. Service was fantastic and staff was very cordial.
One suggestion please make your food (rice) portions larger. In one order one person should be able to satisfy his hunger. :-)
No AC or fan needed in the area camp is situated.
The best in Munnar !

We are surprised by the hospitality they had extended throughout our stay in Camp Noel. Right from the moment we arrived, right from the room boy to the lovely G.M were so welcoming and we cannot forget the warmth of their courteous behaviour.
The property is really big and it offers a lot of privacy to all the guests. Rooms are neat and spacious with almost all the amenities. Food is so yummy and I find it reasonable too.
If you are looking for a memorable vacation, this is the place.I am sure you will have some great memories to cherish for the rest of the year!

Camp noel is placed near vattavada, munnar. Vattavada is a nice place which is located munnar to kodaikanal old root. It's a village and full of greenish. the place looks awesome but the hotel facility is not value for money. Room facilities are just okey only.
