We checked in to the Campanie hotel at Charleville Meziers on 19 Ocober 2016.
Both doors into our room stick very badly and had to be heavily pushed.
No longer any hairdrier in the rooms it seems.
We were first in to dinner at 7 pm and were told in no uncertain way that omelettes were not availablle ..even though they featured strongly on the main menu.(where is it .possible to visit in France and not obtain an OMELETTE......???
The light switch in the bathroom is well below wash basin level and one has to hunt to find it.I have travelled the world and never seen anything as iser unfriendly as this .
We were astonished to find the bread served was not fresh.When the meal was finished the head waiter merely took our remains and tossed them by hand on to the bread supply to be served to other customers.
For many years my wife and I have been Campanile customers.No Longer!

Staff attentive and polite, room very clean and comfortable with Tea/coffee TV and good shower.
Food basic but fair value and choice, ideal for a couple of nights or stop over. Secure parking and quiet location.

Well know hotel chain in France. Simple rooms, but clean, free wifi.
Standard breakfast and quite good food in hotel restaurant for dinner.
In this hotel chain is always good that you know what you can expect. I have stayed in few other Campanile hotels and this one was in line with my expectation.
Good for short business trip (1-2 days).
Good value for money.

We were lucky. We found a warm, clean and welcoming bed at this Campanile.
We also struck lucky with Thomas - who went out of his way to help us find a room to stay in locally - for the duration of our weeks stay - despite the town being booked solid for the puppet festival. A BIG THANKYOU Thomas :-)
We had been very (very) badly let down by le Hotel Dormeus du Val in Charleville-Mezieres for the 2013 International Puppet Festival week, Having driven from the UK overnight to arrive at 04.45 on a Sunday morning, we found our room for the week at Hotel Dormeus had been cancelled & sold to somebody else (& the hotel rudely refusing to discuss the matter with us). The town was fully booked - we were dog-tired & tried 3 other hotels before we found this Campanile.
It was bliss - a clean bed, lots of hot water, tea & coffee making facilities & in the morning helpful staff who went out of their way to assist us.
Thank you Campanile - we will be back.

The hotel receptionist didn't speak much English but had information written so we could still understand. Rooms were clean, basic, small but comfortable, with only one power outlet. Internet was good. Traffic noise was quite loud. We ate at the potato restaurant across the road which was worthwhile. Overall, good for the price.
