I have mixed feelings

Giorgia C on 18/11/2017 17:25

First of all, I think that 5 stars should be given to the staff only, who were always very lovely.
I think that the overall state of the hotel would have been ok if the price per night was around £30/35 maximum, not £115 (with 40%discount!). I understand that the price is due to the fact that the hotel is located on the docs and the room is sound proof (as there’s a four lanes highly trafficked road just outside) but I don’t think those are good enough points, for the following reasons:

- To get to the room I had to walk outside and through another main door.
- There’s no elevator
- The corridors were very bare and with two candy dispensers that made it look even more sad.
- the carpets look old and worn.
- In the bedroom the heating wasn’t central, but I had to turn it on when it was cold, and after 5 minutes it was on the room was roasting.
- For this same reason the bathroom was cold in the morning.
- There were no plugs near the bed!
- The main door wouldn’t lock with the locker (although it had one), thankfully the door couldn’t be opened from outside but still...
- The door between the bedroom and the tiny hallway wouldn’t close either.
- The breakfast in the morning was £8 “all included” which only works if you eat meat as the price was worth we only if you had the English breakfast and there was not a vegetarian option... or no other option really beside yoghurt, cereals or plain croissants.

On the plus side it was nice and clean and had a kettle with coffee or plain tea.

£150 two sharing for a saturday night stay

JacksnoJJ on 13/11/2017 21:14

Don't know where to start, stag weekend, pre booked, friendly at reception, advert up only £8 for breakfast, so that was not included, room clean, to single beds close together not room to swing a cat, bathroom clean but standard poor, two bath towels and nothing else. i'm surprised the rooms didn't have a keyhole to check the inmates behaving. to say we were mugged is an understatement, have stayed in some hotels over fifty years but this has to go down as "not good" I returned early evening and realised I had left entry card with lad I was sharing with, so told them our names and the lead name who booked. Reception went through the bookings and our and the other lads we booked in with could not be found, asked what was my room number said what it was and they just issued a new card. good job i was honest. Sorry but it was very very disappointing took shine off a good night out.

Need TCL.

Location Excellent. Bar & dinning area Beautiful, Bedrooms = let this Hotel down, Very dated, Woodchipped wallpaper. Cold window drafty. Damp around window. They won't you to save Water BUT no Tap in Sink ?. Door handle on bedroom door missing. PAPER CUPS (need PROPER mugs). NEED COLOUR INPUT TO BRING ROOMS MORE ENJOYABLE TO STAY IN.

Great place to stay but relatively expensive

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst attending events in Liverpool. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The room although basic was quiet and had a very comfortable bed. We ate in the restaurant one night and found the food to be delicious. Its great to be able to get a tasty burger without it being lost under tons of chips, although you have a choice of side portions of variously spiced chips if you want them. The bar was good too and stays open late, perfect for a nightcap. The only downside was that we must have booked at the wrong time and found it expensive - had we booked just a couple of days before our trip we would have saved £70.

Very good location

Great location for the hotel. The main reason I picked it was price and location. When you get there the staff are lovely. The room on the other hand. Looks nothing like what the picture shows tbh. It felt very dated. We had blue tac holding one of the bed lamps to the wall. Tiles and bath were stained. Carpet was well used. But overall it was a nice stay. We got what we paid for. Was a cheap stay. But saying that we would probably stay there again as the good outweighs the bad and as I said above location is perfect.
