stayed here for two nights with friends. Owner & caretaker was very helpful and caring. Food served was homemade and delicious (for non veg I could say that but my veg friends differ). The environment was serene & beautiful. You can do most shopping in houseboat itself since all sellers roam inside lake in their small boats. Must visit floating market in shikara which takes around 2-3 hours.

Caring and Endearing owner and staff made the stay home-like. Royal interior. Delicious food and special preparations. Mesmerizing sunrise view, across the lake and hills on the front; refreshing view of flowers-laden selling shikaras. Lucky chance was of watching, sitting in the balcony of the boat-house, heavy rains dimpling and rippling the lake water with cheering sound, and dark clouds with thunders behind the hill-cliffs on the front. Well organized return-trips to Sonmarg, Gulmarg, and Pahelgam.

I visited Srinagar in the month of April for my honeymoon earlier this year. Stayed at the Canada house boats for the first day. Overall the service was good however there were a couple of things which was not up to the mark.
1. The houseboat supervisor charged me for the water which we drink and the rate was double more than double.
2. There were no arrangements for tea or coffee.
3. Hot water supply was a problem.
4. The rooms were clean however the exhaust system within the washrooms was not good because there was a lot of suffocation and circulation of bad odour.
Overall I would read the Canada house boat as 2.5 to 3 stars not more than that because they can be better.

The interior of the boat is magnificent. The view of the lake from inside the rooms is breathtaking. The owner and support staff are helpful and friendly. The food is also great (lots of things on the menu for dinner). The interior is also quite well-maintained and clean. Would recommend it to everyone.

My stay was excellent. The owner and manager are both lovely and welcoming. The houseboat was clean, especially the bathroom which is a major factor for me when booking anything. The room was lake facing which was a huge plus point as other boats don't have this option. Thank you for all your hospitality. Breakfast was simple but sufficient and dinner was always really delicious too.
