This is a beautiful hotel a short bus ride or a pleasant, easy walk into Segovia.I stayed for five nights and was delighted with my surroundings and my large luxurious room on the ground floor with it's own private terrace overlooking the swimming pool and tennis courts. The bathroom was large and beautifully equipped and everywhere was clean.
The buffet breakfasts were amazing with a vast selection of food both hot and cold, three fruit juices,coffees,every sort of tea and three kinds of milk! The selection of fruit was comprehensive and everything was constantly replenished by the hardworking lady from the kitchen. The waitresses were charming and whilst attentive were not intrusive.
The reception staff were all very helpful.
Unfortunately my experience was somewhat clouded by the housekeeping. I stayed for five nights and my bedsheets were not changed during my stay even though I spilled a small amount of coke onto the top sheet. The bins were emptied only on the fourth day and the glasses weren't washed or changed for three of the five days. Not the standards of a four star hotel.
When I was leaving the receptionist asked if everything had been as expected. I told her about the housekeeping and she said "you should have told us and we would have sorted it out for you". In 50+ years of travelling and in various standards of accommodation I have never needed to ask have my room cleaned properly or my sheets changed.
That said however it did not spoil my stay .

Stayed for 3 nights in a suite with ajoining room for our boy - really lovely rooms, spacious, light and airy. Great buffet breakfast and a lovely lunch menu in relaxing setting. Enjoyed the outdoor pool and spa. A super base to visit the charming city of Segovia, which is only a 10euro cab ride away and well worth several trips to see cathedral, aquaduct and castle

We stayed here for 4 days at the end of a Spanish. Our room was immaculate, the free mini bar was awesome. we had a ground floor room with a bathroom with a bath and double shower. We were able to walk right out onto the swimming pool area, and had an outside terrance area with a table for our room to play cards and chill.
The staff were brilliant and a bus into town was €1 one way into town from right outside the hotel, see timetable attached. Free parking in the hotel car park was brilliant too.
Would definitely stay here again. Pool was immaculate also.

The hotel impressed you when you arrive. The property has beautiful old architecture buildings that can make you think that you are in a special place. But everything ends there, in the entrance. The hotel gives you the impression of high standard hotel but along your staying you find details that added up make the conclusion being a poor one. Some of them are: they require a fee for swimming towels in cash, so if you have no cash with you no swimming towels, our toilet was not flushing properly, so unpleasant, breakfast was below average, bar service below too...Definitely I would not recommend it. Look for other options to stay in Segovia unless you want to be in the swimming pool with your own towels.

We spent the last few nights of our holiday at the Candido, and from check-in to departure the whole experience was perfect.
Everything spotless and the rooms big and comfortable with a terrace.
Pool was big and clean and never felt crowded. In fact the whole garden area was laid out in such a way that you never felt crowded. The whole lobby area was comfortable and attractive.
Breakfasts were plentiful with a fantastic selection. Didn't have dinner here though.
The hotel sits a little way outside Segovia. €5 to €10 and taxis called by the fantastic reception staff were pretty instant.
Would stay here again without question.
