I'm glad that my hotel stay was not centered around my initial call to the hotel. I needed to change my method of payment on file, as my card had been compromised. I called, Jane answered the phone. (We were under a mandatory evacuation here, it was a scary time, rooms were sold out everywhere and I finally found this spot.) I called to change my card to ensure me and my family and my dog had a safe place to run to and I wanted to make sure that my card on file was up to date and everything was good to go, Jane tried to tell me that I could wait to change the card when I arrived, I explained to her that is not what I wanted to do, I need to make sure that our reservation was not cancelled during our time of need due to not having a valid card on file. My husband called to as a question the day before we arrived and she was not helpful at all. Day of arrival, Amy checked us in..she was AWESOME! It was a scary time for us not knowing the condition of our home when we returned and Amy was very accommodating actually made me forget about what was happening back home, we arrived early and Amy communicated with the housekeeping staff to have our room ready for an early check in. Amy was the same throughout our stay, she also informed me that they were waiving our pet fee because we had to evacuate. Our room was perfect for us and going forward we will stay at a Candlewood (based off this stay) when my family and I have to travel with our pup, the space of the room, being pet friendly, the frig, stove top,etc was perfect for those days when did not want to eat out. I did meet Jane in person while I was there and she was friendlier in person, maybe she was having a bad couple of days or maybe she is not a phone person, Jane's initial interactions maybe be a deciding factor if someone would stay at this location or not, maybe some additional training is needed. That small hiccup would not stop me from staying here again, it was clean and you could not tell it was a pet friendly property unless you seen other pets, plus that the location is close to my family and friends.

Spend two nights at the Candlewood, staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite very enjoyable. With the kitchen it aloud us to make breakfast and have the option to pick up supper and eat in the room after a full day that the State Fair. Our room was located right across from the elevator, very quite did not even notice any noise.

My husband and I stayed here for five nights while visiting family who live in Apex.
Pros: room was clean, comfortable and sufficiently updated, no noisy neighbors, good location, comfy bed, nice kitchenette, friendly and helpful staff, decent workout room, good wifi, on-site laundry facilities, and pets are allowed.
Cons: two minor ones - a/c unit was loud and woke us up every time it kicked on, and the lights from some of the appliances (particularly the microwave) were super bright at night which also kept us awake at times.
Overall this hotel was very good for what we needed. I'd stay here again. Loved the restaurants and shops in downtown Apex, too!

First off I have this hotel 2 stars as the staff was pleasant. We went to the area for our grandsons graduation. We needed something convenient, would allow us to have our puppy and I only stay at IHG brands. For the hotel, not so much good. The room while a nice room, it was dirty. There was hair in the sink and the shower. A used bar of soap was still in the room. I called down and asked if they have room service to clean, once per week was the answer. Ok. Let's make the best of this. We cleaned the room ourself, went to a department store down the road and got some supplies, bonus for our daughter she now has them. The next morning we wanted new towels, brought the old ones downstairs, you have to exchange them to get new ones, and they did not have any large towels. She Looked for the cleaning crew and could not locate them. She started walking so I followed, went to the third floor and went into an unoccupied room and she took the towels from there and gave them to me. Ok I guess that works. My wife went walking the pup, got some very rude remarks from the mobile home park guys, when they saw me they stopped but come on now. Came back Sunday night and was surprised to hear music blaring from the same area. Unfortunately our room faced that area and gosh we were so happy to hear that until 11:00pm. Honestly could not wait to get up and leave Monday morning. This place was not what I have become use to being an IHG patron. We will choose more carefully on our next trip out to the area.

We stayed at Candlewood for about 2 weeks and we found it to be clean, helpful front desk agents, Walmart about half a mile away for all of your needs, free laundry, fitness room, and delightful weather.
