Just off 280 at the top of the hill, but it's surprisingly quiet just a block off the road. We just stayed one night and it was a great value.
Everything one could need in a nice clean layout. Comfy bed. The room was a bit musty, but overall a great place. Looks recently updated.

The place is very good for this price, the room was big and clean, with an equipped kitchen. They don't have dining facility but they have a pretty nice snack bar and also hygienic goods which was really useful for me since I was not planning to stay overnight so I didn't have toothbrush and stuff like that, it was nice to buy it in the hotel and not to drive somewhere to buy those. Although you have to pay attention when checking out no to be charged for things you didn't buy (you have to drop a slip once you buy something with your room number and upon checking out I had items for my room which I didn't buy, I guess somebody just put my number room on their slips...but you can pay cash also immediately when buying something). The room had a good wifi, and ac which seemed a bit old and not that much cold but it was fine. It's next to a highway with several restaurants and shops. The service was kind too. They also have guest laundry room and gym. I think if I will stay overnight in Birmingham again I would choose this place again.

When the sewer in our 80-year-old house started having major problems, we decamped to Candlewood Suites across town in the Inverness area of Hoover. Great choice! We stayed nine days in a suite -- the only room choice there that had two beds, a regular one in a separate room and a fold-out sofa bed in the main room. The rate was very reasonable for stays of seven days or more (and includes a AAA discount).
As noted in other reviews, these rooms feature full kitchens with a two-burner cook-top, full-size refrigerator with ice maker, small sink, and a dishwasher. There's a good selection of utensils, including boilers and a frying pan. We cooked there every day. Crock pots and Foreman-style grills are available in the motel's "lending locker."
The room was a bit difficult to keep cool some days when the sun was shining bright. The A/C unit is in the main room, with a small fan in the wall between the main room and the bedroom that supposedly brings cool (or warm) air into the smaller room. It didn't work well all the time, and turning the fan up full resulted in loud noise. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable, and my mom said the sofa bed was fine. We liked having two TV's since our viewing habits differ widely. :)
There are also two nice closets. and a bathroom that's large as motels go. The shower was perfect. Overall, the room was very clean and well-maintained. The property was also kept up well, although it's a bit on the drab side. The motel is in a safe area, about half a block away from U.S. 280 -- far enough away to avoid traffic noise. There's a lot of shopping and dining in the area. The motel is adjacent to a number of office complexes (extended-stay lodging is popular in this area).
There is a laundry downstairs with five washers and six dryers. All worked well, but were quite slow -- an hour and 20 minutes for a full wash. We used them extensively. WiFi is free, but varies in speed from mediocre to slow. That's typical for this level of lodging, though.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Standard hotel amenities are lacking -- no swimming pool and such, though there is a decent fitness room -- but that is typical of extended-stay properties.
Overall, Candlewood was a great temporary home. We will probably be going back in two or three months as we transition out of our old home. It was also popular -- most nights that we were there the property was booked up or nearly so.

The rooms are a fantastic size and beautifully accommodating. The kitchen comes stocked! With a dishwasher, 2 burner stove, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, utensils and cleaners! The suite comes with a sitting area equipped with pull out sofa and sleeper recliner as well as a full bedroom & TV with Queen bed! There is free laundry service on site, a gym, YMCA pool, a lending closet, snack cupboard and everyone is so friendly! We are happy to call this place home for temporary purposes until our home is built. :) Special thanks to Manager Nancy and Guest services Person Angela! They've all been so amazing!

The staff was wonderful, they were professional and friendly. The room was clean. Our mattress was itchy, unsure why. The AC works great in the bedroom but not in the add on room, it barely reaches in there at all. I would recommend, and stay again.
