Stayed here for the night after arriving late from SeaTac. We were planning on hiking Mt Rainier in the morning. This hotel was a short drive from the airport, and about an hour away from Mt Rainier. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Beds and pillows very comfortable and clean. Rooms have small efficiency kitchens with full size refrigerators. If we ever get to come back to Rainier, this would be our go to. (There is not a lot of accommodations closer to the mountain.) Can stay comfortably for a couple of days without having to eat out every meal.

We are very happy here our home away from home. The staff amazing and helpful. The place clean and nice. Long term stay because we had a fire at our home. There's a full size refrigerator and no charge to rent DVD movies. These is also free laundry which is great. Recommend this place 😀

We recently had the opportunity to stay here a few months for a job locally. The staff was great. The front desk always went out of their way to accommodate. Housekeeping was always polite and professional. The room was nice. The beds were very comfortable. I especially liked that the laundry was free and rarely ever had to wait for an empty washer. The two drawbacks are 1. the business center needs faster computers. I had to use the printer at times and the computers took an extremely long amount of time to load. It was not uncommon to take 20 minutes instead of the 5 it should have taken. And 2. The riff raff that comes by frequently. Not much they can do about that. But we had our bicycles stolen on our last day there and they were double locked. We didn't report it as we were in a hurry to leave. Having said that, and having seen much of Lakewood, I would definitely go back. It's one of the nicest places to stay in the area.

In Feb this year I tried to use my Holiday Inn points to book one night of hotel in either Seattle or Tacoma area for Aug 5, 2017. Unfortunately, all the Holiday Inn Express or Holiday Inn that I checked were all sold out because Aug 5 was the night of Lady Gaga's concert in Tacoma. However, Candlewood in Tacoma still had some rooms left. As it's affiliated with Holiday Inn, I thought the level of service would be similar so I booked a night and, as usual, requested a quieter room away from entrances, elevator or vending machine because I am a light sleeper. One week prior to my trip to Tacoma, I called the hotel and made the same request. When I arrived the hotel on Aug 5 before 3:00 pm, I asked about the quiet room again. The receptionist told me that the hotel was fully booked and gave me a key. Then, I discovered that my room was located steps away from reception and directly across from their housekeeping room. Needless to say, this was NOT a quiet room. I have used Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn and Intercontinental over the years. Every time I requested a quiet room, whether using cash or points, I was able to get one even when one time I went to their sold out Holiday Inn Express at the Fisherman Wharf in SF. I should mention that the staff at reception was totally not interested and not apologetic as he handed me the key. Would I ever return to this or any Candlewood Hotel? It's a definite NO. With the quality of service provided and the amenities (old and lacking) available, I am not even sure why Candlewood is affiliated with Holiday Inn..

Military member who had a long term stay agreement with the hotel , but good booted when they had a full reservation weekend. Honestly the room itself was decent, had old furnishings, but they got the job done. The staff on the other hand showed their true colors multiple times, but the big one was when they broke the trust of our long term agreement by instead going for the quick money on a fully booked weekend.
Can't trust them, don't stay here.
