Employees fought loudly between them in the middle of the bar while we where there, my girlfriend was shocked.
The place was not exactly neat, unwelcoming at most: right under the balcony rubbish was visible.
Double check prizes before buying anything.

1. Extra charge and no receipt
We booked through the website booking.com, where we had a price of 60 euros for a room plus 10 euros for destination fee. Once we got there, he charged us 10 euros more for another unknown fee. He refused to give us any detail on the receipt and he looked like he just charged randomly. After checking on internet, the tourist fee should have been 1 euro!
2. Uncomfortable rooms
The bed was uncomfortably hard, the room was cold and not soundproofed at all. We did not expect something very classy for our stay in the mountains but at least something decent for the price we paid.
I definitely do not recommend this place! To avoid!

My husband and I stayed here one night on our way through Italy. The drive up the windy road was a very nervewracking, but the views from the hotel were gorgeous! The owners were very hospitable and the food was fantastic! The rooms were very simple, more like a pension. We were really glad we found this place and will definitely stay here again.

My partner and I stayed here for one night after a long, long drive from Holland all the way through Germany and the San Bernardino pass in Switzerland.
After the terrifying drive up to Brunate (the bus drivers are crazy) and the sat nav going wild, we arrived at the Capanna exhausted and starving, at around 10.30pm. We were greeted with a warm welcome and had sandwiches made for us despite the time. The room was very clean and the breakfast was as good as the breakfast we enjoyed at our 3 star hotel in Rome.
Excellent value for money in a beautiful location (if you can brave the drive!)

This was a perfect stay and beginning for our foot-walk along the magnificent "La dorsale del Triangolo Lariano". Very helpful and nice innkeeper!
