Pros:
Big rooms, good location, most of the staff were very nice (except for one of the receptionist who was very impolite), very good breakfast buffet, exclusive area for the guest at the beach with private security and a bar (for extra 15.000 pesos per day (UDS $5)).
Cons:
Very thin walls, we could hear everything happening in the other rooms. The beds were not comfortable at all. The pool area was small and not very clean.
A friend of us asked if he could leave a small bag with his camera in our room for a couple of hours while we went to the beach but the guy at the reception refused (in a very impolite way).
The last day, the staff was cleaning or painting the next room and the gases of the products they were using leaked into our room filling it with a strong chemical smell (we had to leave the room because we couldn’t breathe).

I recently booked a room on Trivago and it took me to a new site called Cancelon and I was charged an extra $69.00 without any warning and of course its non-refundable. I called their help desk in India and some rude guy told me thats their booking fee and hung up on me so beware of this. I have no recourse but I have an email into them and will complain and let them know I am writing a poor review that may help future people booking from Trivago. ( I never had this happen before and never heard of this Rip Off Site Cancelon )

I expected much more of this hotel. Receptionist on checking in was not kind at all. After having being in such hotels around Colombia, we felt she could have made us more welcome. The swimming pool needs a lots of renovation work. The room wasn't cleaned properly. The only good thing was the sea view. Not worth the price of 123 pounds per night.
You can stay in a much better hotel for this price. The beach in front is not nice at all. A real shame.

Very nice family visit ,great staff friendly and accommodating ,food good and great location.was impressed with fact nothing too much trouble.roof top pool lovely but bit lively at times and music too loud

This hotel was recommended to us by a friend and we were happy we followed her advice. Hotel promotes itself as a 5 star hotel. This may be a bit overstated. However, it seemed to enjoy a strong reputation in the area and we certainly were not disappointed. The staff is courteous and attentive to your needs. The concierge service was very useful in guiding us to the correct restaurants, tours, etc. We quickly realized that buying cheaper packages from the street vendors was a mistake as the hotel concierge will ensure you get the right quality tour. The rooms were clean and modern, the roof top pool was very nice and offered a bar and food service. The beach is just across the street and the hotel maintains security and bar service for its guests which greatly helps. All in all a very strong performance and good stay in Cartagena.
