We live on one of the Gulf Islands and visit Victoria regularly. This trip was a last minute booking for medical issues so there was no time to prebook. We had never stayed at this hotel in the past but had stayed at others in the area. I would not hesitate to go back. The rooms were well appointed, very clean and comfortable. The staff were exceptionally pleasant both on the phone and in person. In fact, the gentleman working the front desk took pity on our predicament and offered us a better room to accommodate my husband's wheelchair. It made my life a whole lot easier in caring for him. The location is very central and easy to access.

We stayed here in late October 2017. Our room was a king bed room with a little kitchen. We booked a king-bed room early and were happy to find that we were upgraded. Everything was very clean and in great shape. The hotel is very quiet and in a very good location, just on the outskirt of downtown so you can easily walk there without having to deal with the noises. The staff we encountered were all very friendly and cheerful. We will definitely stay here again in the future now that we have tried it, it was easy to get into and had lots of parking. They are also pet friendly, which is a bonus.

Kept awake all night by constant dripping noise outside the window, onto the air conditioning unit.
Also couldn't make a decent cup of tea because the only way to heat the water is by using the coffee machine, so the tea tastes like sour coffee. Apart from that it was worth the stay!

I stayed at this hotel October 11 - 14, 2017. Check-in was a breeze, although it's an older hotel it seemed to be renovated and I like the old charm that it had going for it. It has an elevator but you can tell it's rather old, small with the buttons that stick out and don't light up. So you probably can't load up too many people or luggage but the hotel is only 3 floors and their stairs are easily accessible. The room was decent size with a small microwave and fridge. The hotel has parking just across the street that I found well lit and never had a problem finding a space. For the price of this hotel I loved the close proximity to the major Victoria attractions (ie.Harbour, Legislative Building, Empress Hotel, etc). We drove but if you like to walk it wouldn't have been a far walk to the action. I found this hotel clean, comfortable with awesome customer service. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for a place to stay that might be on a more limited budget.

We booked two rooms and found the place welcoming for our mid size dog. We respected their request that the dog was on a leash. There was a $15 extra charge for our pooch which was reasonable. Both rooms came with two queen size beds. The bed were comfy. No complaints from the 6 of us. The rooms smelled clean without the doggie smell.
There was complimentary Wifi (a bonus) in our room along with a small microwave, 2 burner stove with a mini fridge. Perfect if you stay longer. The bathroom sink is deep and serves as the kitchen sink.
If you're a sound sleeper, you won't hear the other rooms' door slamming at night or the semi thin walls. I brought my hearing aids which was perfect for me.
As a former resident of Victoria, I found this hotel in a reasonable location to the arena and to Chinatown. Maybe 15 maximum walk. It isn't in a touristy area of town.
The lobby area is updated and trendy. There's internet to use. There's complimentary parking which is a bonus.
I didn't have a chance to checkout the restaurants or the swimming pool. Service was friendly. We'll be back!
