Having read the positive reviews we booked this place for a 2-days stay. Location is actually the most positive aspect as it is easily accessible by car and only a short walk away from the city centre. A public parking garage is available next door, offering a preferred rate of 10 EUR per day for guests of Capitolio. There is a reception desk for all apartments, which is serviced from 7 am until 23 pm.
Our room (A101) was not particularly spacious and designed in the same unusual style as all the others (telling from the pictures). Although style is debatable, function is not - some examples: the kitchen offers a huge fridge/freezer but almost no space to prepare anything, as toaster, microwave and other appliances are crammed into the little space that is left; not even a complete 2-set of wine-glasses was available, let alone some basics like salt and pepper. Our impression was that management*s intention is to rather keep guests away from using the kitchen at all - the 10 EUR fee per use of the washing machine is just another example.
Apart from that we experienced some difficulties with the air-condition which at times blew either hot or ice-cold air; both in an unbearable fashion. The mechanic who apparently had a look at it, was not able to find any malfunction and we were finally blamed for not handling the remote correctly. Well, then I suggest to provide an operating manual to avoid the issue in the first place.
If you decide to stay at Capitolio I suggest to avoid A 101 and A 201 as these are located next to the staircase and the elevator and (according to the emergency escape that are on display) significantly smaller than the other rooms. Rooms are facing the street, which is reasonably quiet as it is a cul de sac.

Well located - we were able to explore Merida sights on foot from the hotel. Apartment was clean, kitchen had basics. We would give a better rating if it was not for the sour older lady who checked us in (on a Sunday, so perhaps not regular staff). The main issue was charging our credit card in our home currency rather than euros, even though she understood we wanted the charge to be in euros. When we explained that this would result in additional cost for us, she shrugged and said that is how their credit card terminal is programmed. If that is true, then the owners need to change their practices. If it is not true, then this older lady seriously needs customer service training!

Great choice , good location - easy to find if you know where it is ! Address wouldn't go into sat nav .
Parking fantastic and by Spanish standards spacious:)
Rooms exactly as shown on web site, spotlessly clean but somehow lacking - not sure what it is , maybe lack of little touches like tissues or tea/coffee.
Some noise from tv in adjoining rooms.

Un apartamento correcto para dormir con la familia. Está limpio, es amplio y cómodo. Desde ahí nada más.
Podríamos volver.
This apartment is a right option to stay with the family. It is clean, big enough and comfortable. But we cannot add anything else on top of that.
We may stay here once again.

The apartment I stayed in was nice, well equipped, very clean and the location is very good in the center of the city with easy access to everything. I was very happy with my stay and would choose this place again - it would be perfect for a week's stay in Merida.
