Not a very good stay

On check in the guy was uninterested, not very forthcoming with information I had to go back for wifi code as not supplied.
Our cottage was sunflower which was directly next to the keylime bistro restaurant, so it was noisy first thing in the morning and at night ( the noise did stop at 10pm). There was a continuous smell of garbage and sewage. The inside of the cottage was very small and on first impressions it was quaint until you took a real look and then you see the dirt on the back window behind the blinds, dirty utensils and dirty bathroom. The cottage needs a good overall. On asking when I needed to pay the balance I was told it had already been taken out of my account 14 days previously, I explained that who I booked it through said it would be payable on arrival.
Second Visit, Same as the First

I came to this place last year and loved it so much I came back again this year. It is the PERFECT location for getting away from it all. Don't expect any wifi or strong cell signals. I grew up in Fort Myers but this is still my absolute favorite spot to vacation. The cottages are nothing fancy but they are adorable, and I think a great value for the location. You get free full service breakfast from one of two restaurant choices directly next to the cottages. Both are excellent. When I'm here I do not get in my car, no need. Spend the days going back and forth to the beach and grab lunch or dinner. The Bubble Room is right across the street - another favorite and must-see. I like to stay here for a few nights and then on Sanibel for the rest of the week to split it up and cover all of the islands. There are some great cottages there as well but they are not quite the same and I prefer the beach here. I'm planning next year's vacation now.
Phenomenal location

First off, you get vouchers for free breakfast at RC Otters or Keylime Bistro at check-in. You get free beach chairs and umbrellas for the beach as well. We stayed in "Bird of Paradise" and really enjoyed it. We were a 30 second walk from two restaurants, a liquor store, and a convenience store. What more could you want?? Also the beach was a two minute walk down the street. The local boat tour cruises left from a dock that was also a two minute walk to the east. This place is all about the location. However, I'm very picky about my stay and I will say this place exceeded my expectations, and is very comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean and housekeeping came every morning to tidy everything up.
I have stayed at South Seas Resort before, and will say Captiva Island Inn is more about the location. South Seas had lots of cool stuff though, like the gym, pool, hot tub, and full kitchen and laundry in the room. Your experience will depend on what you want from your visit.
This time when we booked, we couldn't decide between the amenities at Tween Waters Inn, or the great location at Captiva Island Inn (similar price), and once we got here my girlfriend said "screw the amenities at Tween, this location is freaking awesome and I don't regret a thing". However, my parents, who like the super duper nice condo with the full kitchen and care about the central air and loaded amenities, might prefer a condo at Tween or South Seas.
Free parking was provided 60 feet from our cabin, and we didn't use the car once during our stay. Which is great when drinking heavily like any vacationer should.
Weekend in Captiva

My wife and I stayed here July 21 through the 23rd. We stayed in Hannah's room which was one of three rooms that shared a common area. The common area included living room dining room and kitchen. This is a nice location and is in walking distance to several restaurants. This is a perfect location for family or friends to book the entire floor. If just one room then you are at the mercy of the other guests. Our Saturday night we were awoken by several drunk guests blowing up air mattresses @ 4 AM. so it can be a gamble. They do have other room types though that may offer more privacy.
Unbelievable Charm !

This is my husband and I's first time visiting Captiva Island. We wanted a quick get a way without the kids. We booked the Hibiscus cottage. It is a quaint old florida cottage with character. I am sitting in the cottage as I type this review. It is clean. The bed is super comfy with 4 nice big pillows. The pool is small but very clean. Doesn't appear many people use it so you will more than likely have it to yourself. If you are expecting updated and modern this is not for you. If you want charm and character - then don't wait to book a cottage here. We were pleasantly surprised that our stay came with breakfast everyday at either Key Lime Bistro or RC Otters. We have tried both restaurants for breakfast and both are delicious. This is not a continental breakfast. You order from the menu. Easily $35 - $40 breakfast every morning. We have had Crab Cakes Benedict, Seafood Burritos, and Regular Eggs Benedict with a key lime hollaindaise sauce. Wasn't sure I would like the key lime sauce but it was delicious. We parked our car when we checked in and haven't needed it since. There is a shuttle that runs from 5:00 - 10:00 pm that will take you to restaurants that are not within walking distance. The first night we ate at the Bubble Room. It is a big pricey but so worth it !! Last night we ate at Doc Ford's rum bar and grille. Decent prices - excellent food - awesome drinks !! You are walking distance to the beach. Sunset is beautiful.
Thank you Captiva Island Inn for a great mini vacation. If I could give you more than 5 stars I would !!
