As will most Logis de France hotels, this place is absolutely fine. Room was clean and fresh. The layout is a bit like a motel. Whilst there was no noise from the street (even from the punk band just outside for Fete de la Musique), soundproofing from the adjacent room was non-existent. The place felt nice and secure. Staff were very helpful and obliging. Breakfast buffet was very good.

À Nice little hotel in the center of The lovely town of Rochefort. Although the room was not particularly to my taste, it was comfortable, clean, quiet. The service was great and the staff was very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Great location.

Staff attiitude extremely poor to rude.
Breakfast tables cramped and very small ( garden tea tables)
Breakfast items ran out at 8.45 and not replaced ( breakfast 8-10)
Rooms needed some/ a lot of TLC.
Cost of breakfast higher than that in the Booking.com website, staff not bothered - pay the hotel rate! No discussion.
Certainly would NOT return.
On the plus side- Private parking for 6 cars ( payable) spaces allocated( you cannot choose), if first in however, it could be difficult to get out with a larger car.
We will not return.

I love boutique hotels and the Caravelle in Rochefort richly deserves that attribute. Family run, the stuff is super friendly and helpful. My ground floor room with all amenities, coffee, tea and sweets, had a little terrace out front with a table and chair to sit and enjoy the fresh air. Great attention to detail, lovely decorations throughout and if you wish to book excursions to La Rochelle and the islands, they will bend over backwards to help. They even got me a taxi to catch my train at 5am, because normally the Rochefort taxi drivers don't start work before 9am.
