We stayed at Cardamom for one night before embarking on a trek to the reserve nearby. On arrival the rooms were clean but the taps for the cold water were broken, we reported this and it was dealt with efficiently. The pool looked skanky and particularly uninviting and there is no way we would've swam in it, there was an infection waiting right there!
The rooms were fine but if you have walking problems make sure you get a ground floor room, my 75yr old aunt was out of breath going to her allocated room, we mentioned this and they changed it for her straight away.
The hotel was "dry" so we decided to go out for dinner to the Spice Village hotel, where the bar service was great and the dinner buffet was fabulous.
Although, the breakfast buffet at this hotel was second to none, I could've eaten everything and the service from the breakfast staff was exemplary.
As said previously this hotel was ok for one night but I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer.

This is in a beautiful setting on the hillside. Most of the rooms are situated on the hill. There are steps to climb but there are plenty of porters to help with the luggage. The staff are all very helpful. The food was very good whether you choose to have the buffet or from the menu. There are a couple of activities provided free of charge. You can easily walk into the village where there are plenty of shops. The only downside is there are power cuts quite often. This is all the village but only last a couple of minutes.

Warm welcome on arrival. Stayed here for 1 night. Clean and spacious rooms. Good location and near to the entrance ticket counter of Periyar Tiger Reserve. The food served hot and delicious. Special thanks to the reception people for giving goodies to my son as it was children's day.
Overall very good stay. !!! Highly recommended property!!!

We stayed here for one night but it was a Tremendous experience with lovely hospitality.Rooms are well maintained with all Amenities. Staffs are Truly Obliging and food was awesome. Surely will be back very soon for a long stay.

An excellent and quite informal hotel complex that provided a calm retreat from the bustling world outside. The facilities were all extremely good, and the garden, the wellbeing centre and the cultural events added greatly to our enjoyment. And last, and by no means least, the staff at all levels were very helpful and knowledgeable and should be applauded.
