Stay elsewhere

Before arriving, I received an email they were discontinuing breakfast at the hotel but they would still have coffee in the lobby. Oh boy! Arrived late, went straight to dinner and upon returning we tried to use the electronic fireplace but it wouldn't work. Only 2 buttons, on/off on the remote that was attached to a cord and velcroed to the mantle. It seemed straightforward so thinking I was doing something wrong, I tried to call the front desk as there are no instructions in the room. Phone was dead. Upon inspecting closer the AC adapter and phone line were both unplugged from the phone. What the? Luckily I wasn't trying to call 911. Plugged them in, got it working and called the desk. No answer. Walked to the front desk and the lobby was locked up with a note on the door. Tried to use the wifi but couldn't find the password in the check-in documents or instructions in the room and of course there was noone to call. Oh well, time for bed anyway. One of the worst mattresses I have ever felt was only topped by the absolute worst pillows either of us had ever felt. It was so bad we were laughing...for awhile. Tossed and turned all night while listening to the neighbors through the thin walls. Couldn't wait for daylight to leave. I've stayed here several times over the past 20 years and it keeps getting worse every visit. This was their last chance and won't be back. Stay somewhere else.
Cute grounds and town but poor service/amenities

Our room was the handicap room which was fine until the shower flooded our entire room. Our cable was not working at all so we decided to watch Netflix on our ipad. Unfortunately, we had no cell service and the wifi was free but there was no one working at the front desk so we called the 24/7 manager on call. The phone in the room was just for decoration I guess because there was no way to make it actually work. The manager on call's number was disconnected. Pillows sucked and I couldn't sleep.
Only as a very last resort

I will keep this as short as I can. Staff were detached and unfriendly to the point of rudeness, "welcome" beer and wine in the lobby at 5pm daily did not happen, breakfast baked goods were spotted with mould, no hot water in the morning, grounds and foliage very overgrown and in need of serious cutting back to make some walkways accessible. We stayed in room 9 and had to seal the top of the door with a towel (which wasn't that clean to begin with!)
It's nice.

It is very nice to sit in the room's patio and have a drink, it's quite and the rooms are quite large. But there is no A/C, the ice machine was broken and I have a problem with toilets where I can't throw my toilet paper in. But the pool was clean and big and the whole hotel had a nice summer camp feel to it.
Pleasant Stay

So glad we decided to stay! This place is nicely kept, beautiful scenery and comfortable stay! It was recommended by a friend of ours and we were pleased. We will come back to stay on our next getaway!
