Me and my partner stayed four nights at Carré Py hotel. We were very happy with the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms. We had an amazing view on the pyrenees. And the staff was very polite and welcoming. I would go again and recommend to others.

Stayed here for two nights while we visited Pic Du Midi which is reached from Le Mongie about 30 mins away. It was an ideal base. The staff here are excellent: friendly and efficient. Breakfast is very good and served in a spacious, clean and airy breakfast room. The reception area is large and nicely decorated. The rooms are very nice. They are newly decorated and very clean. So quiet and peaceful as well even if a little warm, due to no fans. The outside space is also very nice as the hotel is situated by a river and it also has a lot of green space around it. Parking is very good too. We ate both nights at the restaurant and it was excellent. I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

I booked here because of very high ratings from Trip Advisor. I don't understand how it received such high scores. The hotel is well situated and clean, but the rooms are bare-bones, nice as a college dormitory but stark as a hotel.

Don't arrive after 10pm - you need to be smuggled in the back door!
A bit of a journey to the Tourmalet actually, my pals were on their bikes & the light was going so bike rack on the car and went and found them up the hill..
But a pleasant hotel. Super view from the front up to the mountains.

I used Carre Py' as a base for cycling: it has a fantastic location about 5 miles from the start of the Tourmalet & Col d'Aspin climbs. The hotel itself was very nice: it has its own car park, bike storage lockers, bike hire/repair shop, nice rooms, and good breakfast. It's worth paying the little extra (only £4 a night or something like that) to get a room with views over the mountains, in my opinion. The restaurant next door is good, though as with many other restaurants around there, isn't open every night. And it could probably do with more serving staff. Bagneres itself is a short 500m walk away, and is pretty quiet - especially restaurants in the evening. Maybe that's a seasonal thing though (i went in September), and you can still gets bits & pieces from the supermarket/shops there. Overall, as a nice, quiet base for cycling, i was more than happy with it.
