Hotel in a great location, amazing hotel and breakfast

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I booked for 14 days but planned to move to another hotel closer to the Historical Center when I acquainted myself with Cartagena. I never moved!! The rooms are large and comfortable, the breakfast was always extensive and there is a pool. But what makes this hotel a true gem is its employees. They treated me and my daughter with such courtesy, kindness and assistance; I didnt want to move. I felt cared for and safe at this Millenium and would recommend to anyone. Its also close to great restaurants, a mall, the beach, 2 cafes and a 10 - 15 minute drive to the Historical Center. The trolley tour is nearby and tour buses pick you up from the hotel due to its location. Five stars!!

This is a guest-oriented hotel and did much for our security. The cabbies there approach you from the airport; be selective especially if driver speaks English well. They are often on the take for percentages of guests brought to certain hotels.
The staff at the Millenium are very professional, focused on the guests, and offer a really nice breakfast spread with the hotel, which covered more than our needs at a reasonable and competitive price. It is clean, the guests feel comfortable-by what we saw. But mostly it is close to the beach, right behind the hotel.
A GEM OF A HOTEL A BLOCK AWAY FROM THE OCEAN

My wife and I returned last night from our 4 night vacation to Cartagena. When we arrived at our originally booked hotel we discovered that it was far from the Bocagrande section of town. That hotel was kind enough to allow us to cancel our reservation without charge...even though our Booking.com reservation stated..."NON REFUNDABLE!" No problem.
Okay next problem...where are going to stay now? After checking out a few of the older hotels located directly on the beach we discovered that they weren't that cheap and the couple we checked out seemed so shabby. We hopped into a taxi and my Colombian wife told him that we were looking for a good hotel value (who isn't?!) It always is nice to ask the locals for advice! He drove us to the Millennium which is a block away from the beach.
The very friendly front desk man had the "bell hop" show us a room and we were sold. The place is older with an art deco design. Every room is different. Very nice semi indoor pool that is nice because it's long...good if you actually want to get a little exercise and stretching done after returning from a beach visit one block away! Our price included a delicious buffet breakfast. Our wifi signal was strong.
According to one of the employees the place is owned by a Bogota family. Well...judging by the fine and helpful staff I have to think the owners are pretty cool and are good managers because the staff was totally great and friendly. Staying there is more like joining a family for a couple of days. I was sorry to leave.
So...what else can I say? I love the place. Great friendly folks, great location, excellent hotel, facilities, good eats, good price..can't beat that!
Thanks Millennium. I
Amazing hotel in an incredible location one block from beach, 15 min. Taxi ride to walled city of Cartagena.

I have stayed at the Millennium two times. Both time were amazing. The first time ,my daughter and I walked in and booked a room . We loved the room, great service ,and great air conditioning. It felt very luxurious. The breakfast the next morning was by the lap pool. The food was plentiful and beautifully arranged. Then, recently my husband and I were in Cartagena, we actually didn't book a room here, because I forgot the name, but after arriving at our booked hotel, which was horrible, we left and walked the street until we found it! I am so glad we did! WE loved it! The staff was super sweet to us, especially my ""tocaya" Tania, who greeted us every morning, and the bell hop which carried our luggage up to the room and got us taxis as soon as we asked. Again the food was great. The room was large with two bathroom sinks, bath robes in the closet and the air conditioning actually got too cold for us. Thank you for such a wonderful stay! I plan to return to Cartagena, and you can bet we WONT forget the name this time. The Millennium is fabulous.
Mixed feelings about this hotel.

This hotel could be great. Starting with the good. The rooms were a good size well appointed the hotel was in a good location and the breakfast and member of staff who oversaw it was very good.
The bad just the attitude of the staff In general. On arrival there was a problem with my credit card and instead of letting me check in to my room I was kept waiting whilst the manager was contacted. I was tired hungry and very hot. There is little to no a/c in the reception. At not one point did the manager introduce themselves. The porters were surly and unfriendly.
The reception staff were woefully inept and again unfriendly.
Workmen drilling outside my room. Spoke to staff they did nothing about it. Took matters in to my own hands and told them to shut up!
Hot water? Do we have to pay extra for it?
