We spent a couple of days in Ottawa this past August. We enjoyed several long walks in the heart of the city and along side the Rideau canal. Our two night stay at the hotel was comfortable. Well located about 10minutes from the Parliament buildings. Security in the building is impressive. The suite had a clean and fully equipped kitchen. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This 4 star rating is really only for the newer section of the hotel which will follow below this first part. For our first night's stay here, it would be a one star!
We were assigned a room in the old section on the 9th floor. It had a small double bed that was absolutely horrible for sleeping, soft and lumpy. All the furniture in this suite was old and worn out with a very old tv in the sitting area. The kitchenette had an off smell and the bathroom was only adequate. The shower had either freezing water coming out or scalding hot! Weird pump dispensers on the tub wall for the shampoo and body gel that kept falling off when the water was turned on. You needed a separate card to use the elevator and the walk from the lobby was long. An extra charge of $30 per day if you want to use their parking.
We were able to change rooms the next morning and got a suite on the 5th floor of the newer section. It was a significant improvement! Newer furniture, cleaner suite, nice bathroom, flat screen tv and a nice queen size bed with a decent mattress that provided us with a good sleep. The kitchenette was also much better. The elevator was right next to the front desk and didn't need any additional cards or keys to use it. We'd stay in this part of the hotel again.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Location is great and within walking distance to many sights and attractions in downtown Ottawa. There are several restaurants and shops close by and the area felt very safe.

Excellent hotel, close to attractions and very clean. It was everything we thought it would be. The staff were wonderful and accommodating. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a fabulous experience!

Came to Ottawa on a business trip for one night. Despite the high price I paid on an October quite time, the hotel is outdated. Took literally 2.5 mins to adjust the shower faucet to warm degree rather than either freezing or boiling!! Worn out amenities, no TV in bed room so forget watching movies in bed with your partner.... i didn't even bother opening TV. And the worst thing is the maintenance noise in the morning!!! Unbelievable machine drilling in concrete at 8am!!! I was exhausted from a late night workshop and woken up to the worst noise!!! When I called the front desk she told me I'll look into this immediately.... half hour passed and the drilling is STILL ON!! Called them again and another employee told me "there is a sign in the lobby saying we have loud maintenance noise from morning to night, didn't you read it?" Are you kidding me!!! So he said "I can give you a room away from the noise for one hour before you check out today".... so I finished the call as it's useless to argue with such mentality that has no respect to customer's comfort... packed up my stuff and left the hotel.....
To the manager, don't reply saying your famous line"thank you for contacting, we are sorry and hope it's better next time bla bla bla".... I suggest you learn about construction phasing and resources management!! I can guide you to valuable references I you can LEARN!!!
Anyway... stay away guys...!!

We got a room in the old building, room was ok. Pain in the butt to have to use a separate card for elevators. Beds were so terrible, pull out couch not comfortable at all!! Bathroom sink would not drain. the pool and hot tub were great and nice to have a balcony. Would not stay again though... Maybe the newer part of hotel is better
