I chose this hotel on its good recommendation. Despite its excellent location and the general good intentions of the staff the stay did not go well.
The restaurant and bar were both busy on my arrival there was no one at reception and it is awkward to arrive in a restaurant standing there with your luggage waiting to collect your key.
The following problems were aggravated by the fact that there was no one about to deal with accommodation - only busy waiters on the ground floor:
Key card failed twice.
Wifi code failed - even with the receptionist attempting to connect it.
The shower unit was not secure and flooded the bathroom.
The room had a strange odour including stale smoke. At first I thought it was cooking odours and smoke from the restaurants below - but later found the bathroom bin had not been emptied from the previous guest and was full including a dozen cigarette ends.
The room had no chair or phone.
The receptionist was mortified and embarrassed and did what she could, but I sensed she was unable to deal with the overall problems apart from clearing the bin.

Good central location in the old quarter but not easy to find especially if in a car. Our first floor room was drab, quite noisy and no hot water. However the traditional, stylish courtyard was a great place to hang out and eat with good food and friendly service.

This hotel is within walking distance to most attractions. It is located in a pedestrian street and if you have a room overlooking the street, it tends to be noisy. We had a room on the first floor and had some concern as it was close to the restaurant. However, no noise complaints. Beautiful old building with nicely done restaurant. 15 foot high ceilings with dark wooden beams, good lighting, nice bathroom. Be patient as it took a good ten minutes to have hot water. Fridge in the room. Small reception, but friendly staff. The welcome drink was appreciated. Breakfast was good, without being extraordinary. The first day we had freshly made cafe con leche, whereas the second day, there was a pot of coffee and you made everything yourself. No fresh bread on Sunday, but good choice of salami, cheese, ham, pate and a fish spread. Room and bathroom were clean. The free walking tour leaves from the square not far from the hotel. Lots of restaurants, small shops and mini markets. Enjoyed the stay.

it's very nice and clean hotel. I enjoyed my stay there even though it was only for one night. the hotel is in the middle of albaicin and just 10 minutes from Alhambra.

Hi, We paid in advance for the hotel. When we arrived we were told that they could not accommodate us and that they had arranged another hotel for us. I compliment them for making the arrangements. The new hotel and room seem quite adequate so no complaints there. We did have to walk two blocks to get to the new hotel. The desk clerk took care of my wife's suitcase and I took care of mine.
