We had a wonderful experience at the Hotel Fontana. We stayed here a week prior to a cruise, and could not have found anything that suited our needs. It was close to the vaporetto, plenty of places to eat nearby, and close to San Marco. The staff was very helpful with directions and recommendations. We enjoyed the daily breakfast. This hotel has been family owned for several generations, and the staff delightfully shares stories which made our Venice experience even more exciting.

Hotel Fontana is like a second home for me. My third visit this year for 11 nights was another wonderful experience. The knowledgeable, friendly staff in this family run hotel will ensure that your visit to Venice will be a memorable one and will go out of their way to make your stay a real pleasure.

When you go to Venice you need to look for a Hotel that is easy to get to from the Grand Canal, and avoid having to drag your luggage over bridges, this is one such Hotel. We were welcomed by the young man at Reception, this is a Family run business and we acknowledged the older lady sitting just inside, caught the elevator to the second floor, we were at the back of the Hotel and it was very quiet, the room was small and basic but clean. When you step out the front door you are immediately immersed into
Restaurants and Bars etc. close to San Marc's Square. Breakfast was included and we were happy with the choices. All in all enjoyable stay.

Good hotel for a visit to Venice before or after a cruise. Ask for room #11 as it has a private balcony that overlooks the local Campo and church. Good sized room and clean. Only drawback is the tub/shower is a bit cumbersome to use but this is to be expected with many hotels in Venice. And the top benefit: a quick 5 minute walk from the water taxi stop with NO bridges! It's also a great location for many of the top places to visit in Venice.

A very nice hotel in a great location. The staff is kind and friendly. The rooms are nice, they are not super big, but that is expected. Very close to San Marco Square and to public transportation. I highly recommend.
