We recently stayed in Casa Grande Hotel, this beautiful hotel is steps away from the Plaza and Los Arcos. Our flight landed very early in the morning so we showed up hours before our check-in time. The person at the front desk noticed that we were tired from traveling overnight and allowed us to check-in early. I've never had a hotel allow such an early check-in, this meant the world to us as we were exhausted.
The complementary breakfast was very good and again the service in the top restaurant was very good. All in all a great experience, we would definitely stay in Casa Grande again. The entire staff was awesome, congratulations to the management for making us feel at home.
A Dream wedding

Three days ago my daughter was married at The Casa Grande. It was an over-the-top fabulous affair that exceeded all our expectations. The hotel fixed us up with a superb wedding planner who took care of every detail. Honestly none of our guests had ever experienced anything like this. We were all raving! I feel very grateful to have had such a wonderful experience.
Beautiful room and great place to have a wedding/

Was here for a wedding and stayed at the hotel, which was formerly a private home converted to a hotel. The rooms are spacious and feature high ceilings and hard wood floors. The staff is courteous and helpful. I ate at the 2nd story restaurant and was always happy with my food. The wedding was on the roof with amazing views of the cathedral and town square. Would definitely stay here again.
Absolutely stunning room but a few issues overall

We stayed at Casa Grande for a wedding at the start of the year. As such this review may be a little long but we really wanted to make sure to review the hotel and wedding venue honestly and fairly.
An absolutely beautiful building and amazing suite. The room was one of the best we have stayed in. It was very large with an amazing bathroom. Completely unexpected considering the amazing price.
The entire wedding that was hosted on the hotel rooftop was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The rooftop was beautifully decorated and the hotel staff were incredible in serving the meal and drinks. The outlook and view from the rooftop was one of the best you could hope for looking over the Plaza De Armas and Catedral de Morelia with the mountains in the background. Considering New Years Eve was the day after the wedding the Plaza and Catedral were lit up and the whole area looked stunning.
The decking on the rooftop caused a few issues as a few people managed to put a leg through weak spots. However the staff quickly cordoned off these areas and we noticed that all of the broken spots were repaired first thing the next morning.
If the review ended at the room, building and the most amazing wedding we have attended, it would be 5 stars all day every day.
Unfortunately we had issues at check in being incorrectly charged (not a big deal as it was quickly fixed and these things can happen)
We ate in the restaurant and had room service on a number of occasions. Our first dinner was disappointing with a number of issues;
The waitress was incredibly nice but could not speak a word of english (not a big problem as we are staying in Mexico and cant speak Spanish so who are we to complain). The issue was more in the fact that the hotel seems to be very popular with foreigners and the language barrier may have contributed to some of the following issues.
We had the wrong dishes served and it was quite apparent some of the dishes had been microwaved. Especially the squid ink pasta which was boiling hot and had a thick skin on top from being microwaved.
We were brought the wrong bottle of wine which seemed to be a very difficult mistake to make as we made sure to point on the menu and that the waitress wrote the correct thing down. When we tried to get the correct bottle of wine we decided to give up after 5 or so minutes of trying to explain we had been brought, not only the wrong bottle, but a bottle of something that verged on being vinegar. The bottle that was brought was also substantially cheaper than the one we had ordered. Maybe they ran out and decided to serve whatever was available..... who knows, but the bill definitely had the ordered, more expensive bottle on it. We decided it was not worth the discussion. This decision was helped by the fact that the lady taking payment at the register seemed very angry and may have said 3 words the entire time. (Her attitude was the same for our entire stay whether breakfast lunch or dinner).
In relation to the staffs attitudes I have to be very fair and add that the staff mentioned above along with all of the staff seemed to never leave the hotel. it was quite apparent that they worked from breakfast all the way through to dinner and close (6-7am - 10-11:30pm). I would also be quite unhappy day to day if I worked these kinds of hours.
On two of the days we decided to take the risk and order room service for breakfast/lunch (mostly because we were in no condition to walk the streets looking for food - remember it was a wedding AND New Years Eve). Both meals were absolutely amazing. We both came to the conclusion that there must be a very different chef/s working breakfast/lunch than those working dinner.
Please note that the following comment has not had an impact on our rating of this hotel and is mainly for advice rather than an accusation against the hotel as we can not be 100% sure - My partner took some pieces of jewellery including a largish gold necklace. The morning of the wedding she left the pouch with the gold necklace and some silver banlges etc on the table after removing the other items she had brought to wear for the wedding.
Unfortunately when looking for the necklace a few days later it was nowhere to be seen. Please remember we only discovered this a few days later when she went to wear it to dinner, and by this time we were in another hotel. The difficulty is that the pouch had a number of cheaper, smaller items in it (silver bangles etc) which meant when she was packing it she did not notice anything as there was obviously items in the pouch. The other concern for us was that the pouch was hidden inside a shoe bag as it had been prior to leaving it on the table in Casagrande. The only time it had been removed was the morning of the wedding before our room was cleaned (we got ready and asked the maids to return after we left for the wedding ceremony).
We did not bother contacting the hotel/police as there is a slim chance it went missing in the next hotel and we could not prove anything either way. More importantly it is completely our own fault for ever leaving it out like we did when the hotel makes a point of providing a safe. In a country where wages are so low and working conditions so harsh we should not have created such a temptation. But we definitely recommend using the safes in hotels in Mexico after our own experience.

The Hotel Casa Grande is a centrally located, classic hotel. The rooms are large, well appointed, and beds are comfortable. Nespresso machine in the room sure doesn't hurt! Very good water pressure in the shower, and internet wifi was good. In house restaurant was also VERY good. I highly recommend this hotel if you have to stay in Morelia.
