Stylish colonial hotel in delightful setting with a colourful history

We stayed one night last week (in the Peruvian winter). Although still pretty warm by UK summer standards! The hotel was very quiet but very clean and comfortable. The food was good and the service excellent. We stayed in the old house which was restored magnificently after the 2007 earthquake to a very high standard
When you go don't miss the tour of the tunnels which is fascinating and not the sort of thing you will find at very many hotels around the world.
The amenities for children are pretty good and looks a very safe place for a few days away with the family - playground, swimming pool - albeit not as bright and shiny as you may find in Europe.
If they developed the hotel further it would be a fantastic and no doubt expensive place to stay - as it is it remains affordable and a bit of luxury.
I suspect if you go back in 10 years time you will find it has moved upmarket and beyond most people's price bracket! So go soon.
Outstanding

This property is a favorite of mine when I want to leave Lima and recharge my batteries. The huge suites with high ceilings seem to erase stress the moment you walk in. Very comfortable beds, just a night or two here and you really feel renewed and well-rested. Also, plenty to do here for my 10-year old...catacombs, a huge property to explore, ping pong, billards, foosball, swimming, bikes to ride, the list goes on. The small church on the property is charming as well...beautifully carved wooden altar. The restaurant here is quite good as well. Highly recommended!

Dont be put off by your journey to arrive at his great hotel, once through the gates you are in a different world, whisked back a few hundred years to a fabulous plantation house. The property and gardens are wonderful as is the pool. We loved staying here for a relaxing few days after a hectic week in the mountains. Although the history of the house is tragic, having been home to African slaves, it is a pleasant place to stay. There are free historical tours around the house and grounds for hotel guests. Well worth it. We ate in the hotel every night and the food was good. We loved eating breakfast on the wide breezy verandas overlooking the fabulous grounds.

What a beautiful property! It is an old Hacienda from the XVII century with lots of history. The house is huge, in excellent shape, with beautiful new rooms decorated with modern amenities and objects carefully chosen. The common areas are also very nicely decorated with old furniture but in good shape. Congratulations to the owners for keeping this large property in excellent shape!! I did a tour of the property to know the history and it is very interesting, mainly the story of the catacoms. The inside church had an old roof and cedar altar. The pool is modern and great, set in a huge garden. Highly recommended! Only thing to note is that to get to the property you need to take a detour through a dirt road because a bridge that takes directly to the highway collapsed. Called the hotel to enquire how to get there.

Friends wanted us to see and eat at this amazing place. We were glad that they did! It is a colonial estate house with beautiful courtyard and gardens. We ate at the restaurant and I think it is safe to say that we enjoyed the courses and presentation more than any other in a fabulous five week holiday in Peru. Highly recommended!
We did not stay inn the hotel, but just ate at the restaurant, this means that we cannot give a rating or review of the quality of the hotel.
