Casa Mary is certainly a step above a hostel but located right in the heart of the hostel area of Gethesemani in Cartagena. That makes it a lovely place to stay in the middle of the action. A fully-staffed 24/7 front desk, secure facility, air-conditioned room, and free breakfast on the rooftop terrace make it an ideal place to stay. It's easily within walking distance of the walled city and exceptionally close to good restaurants, bars, and shops. Expect about 5,000 and 15 minutes to the airport.

It's a small cozy hotel, located close to the popular Plaza Trinidad. The rooms are nice and clean. It has a nice terrace and good breakfast. The staff are friendly and the rooms are relatively clean.

The staff at Casa Mary were all lovely. We enjoyed our room and the roof was great and breakfast was enjoyable. However, we found it was way too noisy on a Saturday night. We preferred to stay elsewhere in Getsemani-- still walking distance to everything, but not noisy. Between the construction and the nightlife noise, it was really difficult to sleep, unfortunately.

Class Mary is nicely located in Getsemani, with the famous Havana club on the corner and in walking distance of the old town. It's a nicely decorated hotel with a cute rooftop terrace for breakfasts (pick from 4 options!). The staff tries to help, but our bad Spanish caused for a lot of confusion. The room had a/c and a nice balcony. The downsides are that it's a bit noisy and the price/quality balance is off, but I guess that goes for Cartagena as a whole since the prices are simply significantly higher here.

I want to thank the staff at Casa Mary for being so kind and understanding about my fear of cats.
The hotel is beautiful and as everyone has mentioned the breakfast is wonderful.
I really liked the upper deck area. Bring some mosquito spray.
The location is the best location for seeing Getsemani because it's in the heart. Great fish restaurant a couple of doors down on the same side as the hotel. Family owned/run.
It'll be exciting to see what they will be building beside Casa Mary. Seems like they are building fast since construction starts first thing in the morning. Whomever they are, I hope they are as warm and friendly as the staff at Casa Mary.
