What People are saying

Low Budget Rooms and Conference Venue

Trulygoldenon 01/05/2017 22:03

It's not high-end like the Hilton or Hyatt but its an affordable place to host or attend a conference. The rooms need overhauling and updating. The menu could use some expansion.
The elevator also was out of order and I wasn't impressed with having to climb the stairs for everything, especially as the phone in the room was not working.

Perfect for Carnival!

Nothing fancy here, basic outdated hotel however! all of our basic needs were met in a timely manor. Rooms were clean, sheets were clean, towels were clean, Breakfast was good. Friendly, helpful staff. Close proximity to all the major fets. Cab service was available at any time. Most of all it was "Safe". I felt secure and safe. If you're a fetter like me and my crew it's the perfect place to recoup, shower, eat and hit de road, fete! Shuttle bus carnival Monday and Tuesday! Costume pick up downstairs! I really can't complain about this hotel.

Not What I Expected

This hotel is definitely not luxurious in any way. The amount of money spent for 1 person per night is definitely not worth it. The elevator is tiny and can only fit 1-2 people with luggage at one time, and it breaks down easily. It takes awhile before anyone responds to your request about anything: extra towels, wash cloths, etc... Overall, the facility really needs to be updated.
Also, the hotel accepts the US dollar, but they don't give you US change back. So, if you purchase something that costs 5 dollars and you give them a 20 dollar bill, your change will be in TT dollars (The Trinidad currency). This becomes a hassle!!!! Either you have enough American money with you or you exchange American money over to the TT in the airport.
The best part was the food!! The breakfast that is included daily is delish! The dinner is great too and is reasonably priced. The chef, the workers, and the manager on the Food Services side deserve a raise. They are GREAT!
I recommend staying at the Hilton or another high-end hotel if you want to really enjoy your stay on the island.

Meets your basic needs.

The hotel is not as modern as other hotels. However, it meets your immediate needs. I stayed on the fourth floor and found the balcony to be very nice and cozy. It has an ok view.

The staff is very pleasant and helpful.

However, in terms of location, you need a vehicle in order to be able to move around. There are no nearby stores except for Massy stores (grocery which entails approximately 10 -15 mins walk one way). It's on a steep so that is also something to be taken into account.

There are taxis but you would have to wait a while for a cab. Thus, many persons just walk. On the good side, it's a great way to get your daily exercise.

An anniversry

Looking back at the years gone I cannot remove from my memory the beauty, peaceful and ambient scenery of this simple but beautiful hotel. Staff was immediately and always available to meet your every need. The room had the very comforting addition of a tub which is an excellent option for a relaxing bath. The atmosphere created by selected of colour and tapestry in the dining room for either meals were nothing short of exceptional. It communicated a mood of paradise, calm and harmony. I think I need to pay them another visit very soon. The only con is check in time is too late and check out too early and this applies to all these beautiful hotels in Trinidad and Tobago.
