Relaxing fun holiday

This is a fantastic place to stay. We have teenagers and it was great for them.
Plenty to do or not. (The wifi is a bit limited only in main restaurant and that’s a good thing)
The room we stayed in was a Beach Bure and it was excellent. (We had a small issue with a power point and it was fixed asap) btw there is no shortage of power points and some have USB ports as well.
The rooms are air conditioned but there is often a good sea breeze which keeps the room cool.
Our room had a small fridge , tea and coffee with milk and ground coffee supplied (for the plunger). Pretty nice.
We also saw quite a few kids having a blast at kids club.
For me the highlights would be the staff, the food, no shoes.
We took the bush walk which is fairly easy up to the two lookouts and I reckon that this is worth doing. Apparently you can walk around the whole island but this would take a few hours at least. Don’t forget to tell reception if you take the walks
Special mention to the following staff which made our stay extra special.
Olly, funny and fantastic service at main restaurant
Nani. Awesome massage very friendly
Sisi, amazing woman at the kids pool/
Sushi bar. Always smiling and happy
Ima, so nice to our kids.
Uraia, Dan, Peta, Una, Seru, and Emori some of the nicest friendly main restaurant staff, Always smiling and happy to have a chat when it wasn’t busy.
Manoah. One of the best staff. So good with kids and made my son a fantastic wooden Sword from beach hibiscus which customs let us keep.
Lucy very friendly and helpful woman at the gift shop.
Sieta creates custom woodwork which is fantastic. No trouble at all with customs
Paul. Generally amazing plumber/Carpenter/ maintenance man. Showed us all around the plant equipment, desalination plant , generator and waste treatment
Oscar. Great boat driver , took us to Modriki island, swimming spot and sand bar, also
Iliano water activities coordinator. Very helpful and friendly. (And does padi instructing for aspiring divers)
I never understood why people go back to the same place for holidays until I went to Castaway.
We will be back.
Castaway For Kids

Stayed a week recently, great location, majority great staff especially Oni & Dan Northern beach great for small kiddies. The food is very very poor, they need to move Marcus along. He cant steam a piece of pumpkin, cant roast a potato, cant cook a piece of fish - simply hopeless although at times the dinner can have a few good options like hot wok build your own stirfy. The buffet is simply very very poor quality most of the time, particularly at lunch times. Had lunch at a few neighboring islands and the food was much much better.
Hate to harp on about the food but I won't be back until a new chef cleans the act up, apart from that great place.
Relaxing beautiful island resort, perfect family holiday

We visited this amazing Island Resort for 6 nights in early November this year - 2 adults, a 4year old and a 9month old. Can not speak more highly of this place. Perfect combination of relaxed island feel with resort amenities. Very much a place for people to come with families - I can imagine it could be a bit much if you don't want young kids around as there certainly were a lot of them although even so there is a quieter adults only pool and the south beach where you can hide away if needed. This was the perfect place to reconnect as a family after a busy year. The wifi was limited to the restaurant which is perfect - we avoided devices entirely and just enjoyed each others company. The kids club and kids pool were loved by my 4 year old and the beach is perfect for young kids - long and shallow. As parents we could tag team snorkelling out to the reef (short swim) while the other one played with the kids. The babysitting was reliable and cheap - so we could have the kids fed and asleep and then have a babysitter in the room while us adults had a dinner in peace by ourselves (imagine that!). The staff were genuine and friendly. We had an all-inclusive meal plan and it genuinely was that - all inclusive. They even included lunch after checkout while we waited for our transfer. We will definitely be back!
An island all to yourself to call home

Let me say first when you get off the boat you are welcomed with beautiful singing people. After the welcome they wisked us away for a welcome drink and to get us aquatinted with the resort. The amount of love they showed to us and our children blew us away. Always eager to help with anything you ask. Kids club was wonderful and full of fun for the kids, they kept asking to go back. If going I definitely recommend the beach bure. Open the doors and the ocean is your oyster. Resort never felt crowded or overwhelmed even tho it was full capacity. The restaurants were accommodating to someone like me who struggles with many food sensitivities. Service is top notch. People are real and genuine a rare find. Definitely a place to come back and feel at home.

We stayed 3 nights at Castaway Island Fiji in May 2017 & absolutely loved it. The beach was beautiful with a huge stretch of white sand & good snorkelling. We stayed in a Beachfront Bure which had just been renovated. The bures have quite a traditional feel to them with thatched ceilings & tapa on the walls. We loved this as it really make us feel like we were in Fiji (you can stay in a normal hotel room anywhere in the world...but not a bure!).
Our kids (4 & 7 yrs old) had an ball. They spent lots of time in the kids club playing endless games & also got involved in the daily beach activities (volleyball, crab racers etc).
We loved the choice of food available with buffet & a la carte options daily, sushi bar & pizza (we enjoyed ours on the beach for lunch).
Castaway has 2 pools & a swim-up bar, Spa treatments, paddles boards, snorkelling gear...something for everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & can't wait to return.
Vinaka vaka levu to all the staff that made our trip so memorable.
