In the rural area, this pearl of a property encompasses all the needs you could have to drive around Tuscany. Excellent service... excellent location. With a choice of two restaurants, you are safe to eat casual as well as a bit more formal full Italian cuisine.

Stay in a villa with your family and have everything taken care of. Absolutely excellent food, service and accommodations. I would recommend highly for short romantic trip or family vacation. By the first few days everyone knew our names and we theirs. Can't wait for our next trip. The Codes

My husband and I spent four nights at this beautiful hotel in May and wish we could have stayed longer.
Highlights:
-The warm and professional staff were fantastic and kindly upgraded our room to a large suite with beautiful private terrace and massive bathroom.
-The grounds and facilities are absolutely gorgeous. The Ferragamo family basically purchased a medieval village and renovated it. The rooms are beautifully designed.
-Aperitivo hour, with wonderful craft cocktails, snacks, and Val d'Orcia views.
-The cooking class, spa, and wine tasting were all top-notch.
We enjoyed driving into Montalcino and Pienza, but I think most people would also enjoy staying put for a week and partaking in all the activities offered.
The only negative I can come up with is that breakfast was not included in all the rates. At this price point, I would have liked to have seen breakfast included in all room rates. All in all though, this is a truly special place.

Our stay was phenomenal. The view and grounds were exquisite and the staff was impeccable.
We highly recommend Castligione del Bosco to everyone we know. In particular, the vineyard tour was so much more than wine tasting. We had no idea of the complexity and science behind growing good grapes. A real learning experience!

This was a special treat for a significant birthday. We booked the least expensive "special room" through Visa Signature, which includes breakfast and an automatic upgrade. Our upgraded room was the Borgo Suite, a spacious suite with stunning views of the countryside. Yes, this place isn't cheap, but it was a wonderful experience. We did the Brunello tasting and the cooking class and just had a great time. It was an easy drive to explore neighboring towns such as Pienza and Montelcino (although the road up to the resort is pretty bone-jarring). The food in the restaurants was also quite good (I was concerned that because it was pretty isolated that the food wouldn't be as good, but it was terrific). The service was impeccable. All in all, a truly special experience.
