had 10 great days at Castillo beach park rooms were clean and we had towels and sheets changed 3 times and the room was cleaned as well .the only one thing what was no good was the new policy about the bar if you was not all-inclusive you only can get food and drink at set times not like the last 2 years we have been when it was open all day
Fantastic Budget Hotel

We were very nervous about our trip based on the negative reviews on this hotel. The hotel is situated on either side of a quiet road. We were on the Moon side which has no restaurant or bar and is pretty quiet and suited us well. The rooms are all ground level units and ours looked onto the well maintained and very clean pool area. The apartment was well equipped with everything you could need. It had a modern cooker, microwave, hob and fridge and plenty dishes, pots etc. The room is a little tired but perfectly ok. It was really clean with a new shower curtain and very white crisp bed linen and towels. The couch in the lounge area is terribly uncomfortable and pretty unusable but thankfully we didn't need it. We ate out so didn't use the restaurant at all - its a long downhill walk, which we liked, to the main drag and beach where there are a plentiful array to choose from. We hired a car and toured the island for 2 days and had a good look at the real Feurteventura....including the dunes at Correllejo which were beautiful but definitely not for the fainthearted - that's all I'll say!! Overall, the hotel is fine and urge you not to pay too much attention to the negative reviews.
Dated

I visited here for a week with my partner. We booked self catering through travel republic, our whole holiday cost £270 for 2 of us including flights, so my review is based on the price paid. Firstly I had read all the reviews both negative and positive so had an idea of what to expect. We arrived a 11.15 am an were advised to come back in an hour as our room was not ready, returned to be told another hour, we actually waited nearer 3 hours, but although annoying our confirmation did say 2pm check in. When we got to our room which was on 'Park' it was clean, but very dated with a musty smell. This was soon rectified with a can of air fresher and a rim block for the toilet. The settee was quite worn and didn't look appealing to sit on so we threw a blanket over it, sorted. Towels, yes you only get 2, but again I knew this from previous reviews so I packed an old hand towel and bath mat which we left at the end of the holiday. Our towels were changed once and the apartment cleaned once. The beds we found to be clean and comfortable. The cooking facilities ample for cooking a breakfast which is all we did. The worst part of the apartment was the bath, an enamel bath that they had obviously tried to paint at some stage but was just badly stained, but you only had to stand in it, the shower worked fine with plenty of hot water. The pool area was well maintained and cleaned every day. We didn't use the bar or restaurant so couldn't comment. It's about a 20 minute walk into the town which wasn't a problem for us as we enjoy walking, we did get a taxi back one night which cost €3.50. There are some lovely restaurants in Caleta, especially 15, Ascension & Nestors. Would we visit again? For that price probably yes.

This is our 3rd stay at this location in the last 15 years
First, second time on a self-catering basis
But first time as all inclusive
Food was a small selection but always fresh
Limited choice of drinks
All inclusive is from 8am to 10.30pm
Our apartment was tired this time
And could do with a new bed settee
And new mattresses on the beds
Otherwise clean and tidy
Room cleaned every other day
No longer have hand towels
Or bath mat
Not advisable if you aren't able to walk far
As location mid way up on a hill to the main bars and restaurants of the resort
Otherwise good value for money
FOOD AWFUL/ROOMS OK

Just back from here last week.We stayed in Moon, the hotel is in four sections.Moon has no bar so you have to cross a road to get a drink and walk to restaurant about 5 minute walk away.Room was ok,towels shocking, size of a hand towel and just two of these, not changed for 4 days! room was cleaned once.I asked for hand towels and bath mat but was told no just two towels allowed! We didnt pay a lot so was fine,it was clean enough place .The food was very poor, i would not go all inclusive here as food is very limited.Snack bar only has burger and chips and open very few hours in the day.Bar shut at 10.30pm. Children there could not find anything to eat at all so would definitely not take children all inclusive as you will spend lots eating out also.Self catering a better option.Staff in the bar at lake was a miserable angry woman, not friendly at all!All in all it was ok,not a nightmare, clean enough and chips always available ,drinks were average and what you expect from AI.I would go back as self catering if cheap deal but definitely not AI.
