we've booked at the hotel through edreams. economy double room (written explicitly "room sleeps two guests").
*The shuttle was set to 13:30 and came at a delay of 15min (13:45). it was also unclear where to wait for it.
*Hotel's reception didn't had city maps nor good advices for tours around the area (besides Etna tour that was possible to book through the hotel).
*Good recommendation from the receptionist was a great restaurant and a street that had many other restaurants.
*We asked 3 different times for a warm blanket and although reception assured we'll get in in couple minutes- we hadn't got it and gave up.
*There were plenty of biting mosquitos at the room. they need to do extermination for bugs.
*When we booked , it was mentioned that they will have a pool. when we came the pool was closed, no lifeguard or chairs/tables. we set on the floor in between swimming.
when we booked, it was mentioned that we'll have a view from the room. the view was ugly factory that made a lot of noise at least one of the nights.
*The hotel was too expensive for the level provided.
*Breakfast was ok
*Room service threw away used shampoo/soap without renewing it, so we used shampoo/soap brought from home (for this kind of emergencies :-) )
*After we booked, we noticed that at the conformation mail they've mentioned "1 guest" although it was aforementioned that the room is for 2 guests to sleep! we've called the hotel check this out and they assured us the room was for two. when we checked out, they revised it and said the room was booked for 1 but now we need to pay for two. after complaining and proving them they were wrong, they didn't charge more than was agreed.
*We were assisted by a receptionist to book a ferry to Lipari and asked him to book it at 14:00 at the next day. although he had a lot of good will, he had mistaken by many details (mail adderes, last name...) and the important one was that he booked it at 13:20 instead! we missed the ferry due to it by couple minutes and got luck (after a long discussing and pleeding local ferry workers) not to extra charge us on new tickets, and letting us go to the 14:00 ferry.

I usually avoid airport hotels, but we had a very early am flight, so it was the best alternative. This one is near the airport and rental-return places, and has free parking and a shuttle, so it was very convenient. Our room was surprisingly large and comfortable, and (unlike in most European hotels) the bathroom was large, well-lit and had an expansive counter to put stuff on. We did not avail ourselves of the restaurant or bar.

As a first night in Sicliy rsting place this was perfect. Room was excellent value. Bed was v comfortable. Bathroom was clean and well fitted. Dinner and breakfast were very good. All staff we had contact with were charming and helpful. Would stay again and recommend. Only minus is the chaotic car parking.

We stayed there before flying off early the next day. First the good points. Hotel clean and inviting, check in easy and relatively quick. The room was exceptionally spacious with an enormous bathroom. The shuttle bus to the airport is excellent. Now for the less good points. The lighting in the bedroom is not exactly bright but could even be described as poor and a complete opposite of the bathroom and wardrobe areas. But the complete disaster is the restaurant and bar. What Italian bar runs out of Campari? But that was the forerunner. The meal we ordered came so quick it was obvious where it had come from. That and the fact it was hot in places and stone cold in others to me spelled microwave. I am still awaiting the drinks we ordered and in desperation we decided to call it a night. You pay for your meals at reception so somewhat disgruntled I did exactly that. When we came to check out they tried to charge us again for the meal and it took the best part of 10 minutes for them to acknowledge I had paid.

The large rooms are well appointed, the location is handy to the airport and there is a convenient low-cost shuttle. However, unless you have a car, you are trapped at the hotel, smack in the middle or an industrial area, and both the offerings and service in the dining room are sad. Good for one night after a late arrival or if you have an early flight to catch, but no more than that.
